Where did you see that K%&T was removing himself from the ITP?

That would, IMHO, be a positive step.
I didn't see that, just assumed that since he's selling it, he won't have his greasy paws at the wheel anymore. I thought Stanley Ho would probably put his own crew in place and give KT and Deno the boot. But if what Linda says is true, that he's staying at the helm for another 5 years, there's still plenty of opportunity for him to mess things up.:D

I hope everyone gets paid and this thing's a big hit. I was planning on hitting some of the qualifiers in another three years if the IPT is still around and has earned some respectability by then. The only way that could happen is if the snake oil salesman takes a hike and gets someone respectable helming the ship.;)

So it appears that KT is claiming there are two seperate negotiations going on, one to refund and another to sell. He does not state or indicate, in any way, that Ho is involved in the refunding tranaction. My guess, if I assume that the content of the letter is true, is that he has not been able to sell the IPT without first settleing the current debts, therefore the refunding before the sale. Still doesn't make that much sense to me.
After calling someone to relay the announcement and absorbing it more, we both came the agreement that for all intents and purposes, KT has just said that there is money there to pay the players and they will be paid, basically whether or not there is a deal with Ho. The story has changed and supposedly the Reno payments are no longer contingent on the Ho deal.

Bottom line... he's lied about the Reno payments before. I'll believe it when the players have the checks and they clear the bank.

I agree that K&^T stepping down post sale would be an asset.

His lack of credibility can be nothing but a liability. I believe it is beyond salvage.

Exactly the same conclusion that I arrived at, providing that you accept the content of KT's letter.

So now, we have two deals that we have to believe in, instead of one. First the refunding to pay the players, and then the sale to Ho. He is really good.

Looks good, sounds good, and maybe is good news. All I ever hoped for is that the players were paid in full for every IPT event. Forget about the bonus monies, commissions and other guarantees. Just pay them for the tournaments they play in. That's good enough for me to lay off this character.

Of course this newest statement is not really a guarantee of anything, just another promise from KT. And his promises are not worth much. But maybe he now realizes that he MUST pay this money or face serious consequences. I firmly believe that all the heat that has been put on him may have something to do with this recent announcement. I do not think he is doing this out of his love for Pool or the players. It is more self preservation. He doesn't want two more years (or more) in the slammer for bilking an entire industry.

There may be no Ho deal at all. I still think KT has been on a treasure hunt to find money to bail out the IPT and may have succeeded. He may be borrowing it for all we know. I don't really care as long as the players get their $3,000,000. My advice to the players will continue to be the same. Do not trust anything he says! Period! Even if they are paid, They should definitely organize before Chicago and demand all prize monies be put in escrow.

This has been an ordeal at best for all 200 players and one Mark Trainer. And it isn't really over until checks are in hand, cashed and cleared. That may be weeks more. Can anyone say Chicago?

I wouldn't thank Kevin or Little Napolean either. I would thank Randy Goldwater first, who publicly warned KT that a suit was coming. Trust me, Kevin knew that this was no bluff. He HAD to pay, before the fire got to hot under his feet. Interesting to me, that when the posts started coming about all the legal possibilities, KT had a change of heart. This is no coincidence to me.

I think the only thing he responds to is hard ball tactics. He is not done jerking around the pool players. Glory to the IPT, but shame on Tru-do for how he has chosen to operate it. He will get no accolades from me for doing something that should have been done weeks ago.

(As a test Blackjack ask your friend Danny Harriman if he gets paid from Reno will he be willing to not play in Chicago if the money is not guaranteed, after he tells you he definitely will be there, then advise him not to go.)

.

I will give you 5000 to 1 odds on whatever you want to bet that Danny will not be playing in Chicago. Bet HIGH!

One guy that "won a lot of money" in Reno went out and bought a nice high dollar SUV with all the bells and whistles.... he can't afford it w/out that IPT check. He shouldn't have bought it before he got the check, but then again, there should've been a check. ;)

Hi Timberly....if it is who i think it is, it is indeed a beautiful ride. I saw it at the Open....................mike

I didn't see it at the open but then again, I didn't see him much at the open. Said hi once or twice while inside but never saw him outside... my guess though is that your guess is right. ;)

Could this just be a ploy to get more plyers to play in qualifiers this weekend. Atleast i think there are a few this weekend..........mike

FYI... The Chicago event is a 2006 cardholder event only. Danny has qualified for 2007 card, so he won't be part of Chicago.

I could personally care less whether the players take my advice or tell me to go $hit in my hat. That is what separates people like me from people like Kevin. I don't need people to follow me around agree with everything I say to make me feel special and important. I call it the way I see it and that's that. I won't sugar coat it either.

Anybody that blindly follows this guy and take his promises at face value (without setting something up to protect the players) is exercising poor judgment. The players must be united and stand up for themselves. If not, they will continue to be treated this way. Maybe KT did this just to see if he could get away with it and have the players still cheer him on in Chicago. Who knows? All I know is that this situation has affected many players and it has strained their credibity with their creditors. It would be wise for the players to get representation PRIOR to moving forward with the IPT in 2007 and beyond. I would not have anything to do with a tour that did not have something set up to protect the players and their interests. Remember that.

In a roundabout way this makes me wonder about what the IPT procedure will be regarding any no shows or cancellations for Chicago (eg the usual couple of players who are not physically fit enough to take part or any player who is adequately miffed re Reno payments to cancel etc).

Presumably being member only events they would not draft in non-member replacements like previously in the opens......but they have moved the goalposts mid-game before and if they did......:)

Maybe it would be a positive step and maybe not. Considering that Kevin Trudeau is the only reason the IPT has even existed and any good that has come from it he is mainly responsible for. If the deal being discussed does go through then he is primarily responsible for it also.

If it wasn't for Kevin Trudeau there wouldn't even be a International Pool Tour thread and nobodys negative comments would even exist because there would be no thread to post them on.

I agree with some of the points you make.

Keep in mind that K%^T can't spell POOL.

Pool on a GRAND scale has been a dream of SIGEL's for at least 25yrs.

If the IPT is sold would it be better off without K&$T based on his huge credibility issues?:)

Many people tune out those that are known liars and/or manipulate others to lie for them.

Dear IPT Player,

You can pop the champagne! I am pleased to announce that we have
successfully concluded our negotiations relating to the funding of the IPT.
The final documents are being finalized at this very moment. We will be
signing on Monday. This means that player checks for the World Open will be
issued within seven-to-ten days or sooner! Thank you again for your patience
and understanding during this business transaction.

The Ho Interactive acquisition negotiations and documents should be
finalized by the end of next week. A formal announcement will be made upon
conclusion of the transaction. We anticipate announcing shortly additional
major sponsors for the 2007 season as well as additional broadcasting
contracts with major television companies in several international markets.
I will update you again on Monday with more definitive news! We are here to
stay and continue to go forward building the largest international pool
organization the world has ever seen. Many more good-news surprises are on
the horizon. Have a great weekend.

Very truly yours,

Kevin Trudeau, Founder
International Pool Tour

My dog has this little squeaky toy. It's a squeaky hot dog - and its her favorite toy. Sometimes when I am playing with her, I squeak it and I pretend to throw it and she looks in the direction that it was supposed to be tossed and looks back at me with this bewildered look. Its funny when she tilts her head in anticipation and starts to look behind my back to see if I still have it. Then she starts to bark begging for the toy to reappear. That is exactly what KT is doing to the players with the money and the promises and the player's dreams.

Hi All,

It seems they want/need more players for this weekend´s events... so they post this thread. "the sea will be calm"... and they will cash a lot of money during this weekend´s events...

In KT we don´t trust... In money we do

As said on a famous movie... "SHOW ME THE MONEY"

That's his problem not the IPT's. If he can't afford it without the IPT's money then he shouldn't have bought it. There is a big difference between having the ability to purchase and the net worth to support that purchase. And again, there's the bird in the hand being worth two in the bush....

wahcheck...<<If you read this latest announcement closely, the 2nd paragraph seems to contradict the 1st.....>>

Not necessarily. If strictly interpreted, it means that there are TWO transactions...one for "IPT funding" and two...the sale to HO Interactive..

The first "funding" could be from a bank based upon proper due diligence concerning the supposed Ho deal...or it could be from one of Ho's own companies as an "advance" against the supposed sale.

Regards,
Jim

You know, I read this thing again. How insulting, is all I have to say. He has owed these guys three mil for six weeks and tells them to "pop the champagne" because they actually might get paid.

What an arrogant bastard! If I were on that tour, I would take the money for sure, but slap him in the face when I saw him in Chicago. Just a little love tap to let him know you care. He is treating all these guys like dogs, that he has on a leash.

If anything, I dislike him more than ever now. So before anyone tells me to eat crow, I will tell him he can eat sh-t. And that's how I really feel. So Jasper, don't get me started, because I may run into you someday. And you don't know me well enough to insult me.

I'm sick up to here with the IPT BS right now. Some really good people busted their asses on behalf of a bunch of down on their luck poolplayers.
Maybe he will make good and maybe he won't. But I don't care if I ever hear his name again. He may have zillions, but he still is a king sized ass.
