Sugartree cues update

God bless you and your family Eric. Best of luck with the next chapter of life. You have good reason to feel proud of what you have accomplished and contributed. I hope to see you again sometime, somewhere! Be well sir.

You can speculate about money, but you then wrote out a whole scenario and the cons of his decisiom based of your presumption???

Eric's life story doesn't fit with your speculation. Can we leave it at that? if it was about money, he would have quit making cues before he started.

Obviously it is about speculation and I certainly will leave it at that. But it is reasonable to suggest that a when a successful cue maker stops building cues, it is due to money, health or perhaps a simple desire to shift gears and do something else. Eric did not say he had health issues, said he still loves to build cues and going to school for a new career does not make more family time for a stay at home Dad. So I speculated that it was a long term financial decision. I guess you must know him personally since you know his life story and must know other details that Eric did not post. Correct?

Contrary to your condescending comment towards me, I carefully read his post and took the time to seriously consider the situation he described. Sorry if you disagree with my thoughts on the matter. Can we leave it at that?

I haven't had the pleasure of owning one of your cues which is a shame. I applaud your ability to properly choose your priorities. Best of luck as you move forward.

Hi Eric hate to see you lay it down , you are an excellent builder !
However this says a lot about the man you are , you put family first that is great ! You can't go wrong there the sacrifice you make for them today will be seen well into their future ! I pray that the Lord bless you and your family as well as what ever you choose to do as a career!
Be blessed Eric

Eric,

A lot of people will regret that you are suspending your cuemaking. You worked hard to develop your cue building process into an exceptionally good hitting cue, and your contributions to the world of cues will be missed.

You have other pressing and very important elements ongoing in your life, the ones most important to all of us as we make our journeys. You have chosen well, and I hope you decide to re-enter the cuemaking when your life settles in.

Finish all of your current cue obligations well and as a top priority, and move ahead.

I will go out on a limb and say this, "the only reason people work is for money."

Eric,
Good for you. Contrary to alot of other peoples opinions on your priorities, you have always been spot on with putting your family first.
Good luck to you and yours on the next adventure in this journey we call life.

Glen

PS. How long before my box cue is done?

And therefor if he stopped ...

... then making cues doesnt make enough money for the time and effort invested. He can make more money doing somthing else (to support his family) and go back to building cues for personal pleasure when time time permits.

You will be missed, Eric. Thanks for all the great cues you have made and best of luck to you and your family in the future.

Good on you Eric for doing it your way. I have seen some guys become prisoners of "the list" and go from enjoying the craft to feeling like they are owned by it. Best of luck to you and the family.

See you next time you hit town.

I wish him the best and will hope everyone gets their cues?.......seems there was always a lot of drama with this dude in the past........

Eric...

Eric, you have (re)changed the industry, simple as that....your short time as a cuemaker had an impact in many ways. Glad to know you, more honored to know you and play with one of your cues!!! I havnt found one yet since 2007 that plays better!
