Hello all;

I'm not sure yet when, where, or how, but I am looking to setup a time and place where as many forum members as would like, can meet up for a hello, a handshake, and maybe a cold one or two.

I've been contacted by a number of az'ers who expressed interest in getting together.

The way I see it, the only real obstacle to deal with, would be everyones varying schedules. Vendors having to man their booths and others who are entered in the tourneys with their match schedules.

Matches can run until close to midnight, as I recall, though it gets better toward the weekend as the feild thins out.

I have a room at the convention center so that is a possibility, albeit a cramped one, maybe better to designate a place and time either at the Expo or perhaps even a nearby restaurant.

We could use this thread, and or pm's, to track one another down and for updates.

Any and all ideas/suggestions are welcomed.

What do you all think?

Best,
Brian kc

SBE meet & greet

AZ'ers,
Triple Cross Cues and Crown Cues have adjoining booths downstairs as usual (L14 &L13) this year and are sharing a rented table. Come on by and introduce yourselves and hit a few balls. We love to put faces with names. We may even coerce you to buy something, too. lol
OK, enough advertising!!!!! Hope to see you all there.
Tom Gedris, Triple Cross Cues:cool:

Renee and Gene (Crown Cues) normally have a sign in sheet for AZ'ers.
TripXQ it will be good to see you again also. Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Don't really know a bunch of people on az, but def looking forward to meeting some more. It would be nice to get a place where everyone can get together for sure!

I went last year and loved it. I met many AZers.

I'm disappointed that I can't make it this year.

I hope you all have a great time.

last time me and my friend played the straight pool challenge tables which was right across crown cues or triple cross cues booth..in could have swore i saw tom but didnt get a chance to introduce myself as an az'er

im going again this year :)

I went last year i had fun till i got sick on saturday .. But i had fun .met a lot of kool people hug out with ron ...Sorry you can't make it bud,,,

We'll all be over at the 14.1 Challenge counting balls and recording runs, swing on by and say hello. run a few hundred racks, and of course buy some Raffle Tickets for some great cues from a few of our sponsors. Such as Zinzola Cues, Pete Tonkin Cues, Jacoby Cues, and Sterling Fury !

you can follow the link in my signiture to get an early opportunity to own one of the great cues offered by Fury Cues !

Looking forward to meeting you all !

wheels still turning...

I thought I'd dust this thread off one more time since were getting much closer to SBE.

Anyone with a suggestion as to when/where az'ers can meet is welcome to share their thoughts.

The sign in sheet at Triple Cross Cues is very nice but I'm thinking more of setting a time and place where those who are so inclined can meet for a drink and possible bite to eat with fellow azers.

Offsite there is a nice steakhouse within 1/4 mile of the convention center. The name is Creeds Steakhouse and they have a real nice bar, too.

For convenience, it may make more sense to meet at one of the restaurant/bars at the convention center. Maybe Chumleys?

The final hurdle as I mentioned in my op is everyone's schedules. If you are a vendor or competing in a tourney, not everyone would be able to attend.

IMO, either Fri or Sat night, maybe 9 ish would give most the best chance.

I figure it would be big fun even if we only got 5 or so azers to meet up. Any more would be a bonus.

What do you all think?

Best,

In years past we've met at Chumley's on Saturday evening after 7PM and had quite a turnout!

I vote for Chumleys.

1. its inside the hotel/convention center complex. No need to drive, or worry about someone getting drunk and then having to drive.

2. If service is anything like last year, I bet we could stay there as long as we want and not be bothered.
2A. I bet Chumleys probably wouldn't even notice if we ordered anything or not.

3. Don't have to worry about losing your parking space at the convention center.

For convenience, it may make more sense to meet at one of the restaurant/bars at the convention center. Maybe Chumleys?

Looking forward to meeting with some fellow az'ers at the SBE.

Since I will likely not have access to the forum or emails while there, anyone looking to meet up is welcome to pm me to exchange phone numbers.

At this point I agree that a Saturday night meet up at Chumley's is a good idea. There is however, a caveat (for me). I'm travelling with a buddy who is in the pro tourney and I'll ge in the Senior one. If either of us are no longer alive in our respective tourneys, then we may leave Saturday afternoon to save on the expenses of another $154 plus taxes for the room.

Regardless, I think it would be great for azers who are still at sbe to get together at Chumleys. I hope to be there, as well.

Feel free to pm for cell info. Leave yours, too.

Best,
Brian kc

Why dont you use the Triple Cross cues booth as the main place to have updated AZ info?? Find out one or two people that would like to organize AZ type functions and then have them drop the info off at the booth

The Doctor told me it was safe to be around other people now after that "brutal episode" and I am anxious to meet each and everyone of you ... face to face.

I will be there. I will try to stop by the booth.

David Hodges and I will be in the Quick Clean booth 20 up stairs. Please feel free to stop by and say hi. Denny I am looking forward to seeing you. I hope you are well
