Super Rare South West

f I had privilege of seeing this cue and holding it

What a nice cue, really unusual ,ebony front and
full splice with bridge points

I think you ought to keep this one
you will never get another one like it

Ohhh Greg, didn't know I was going g to get teased here too lol. Awesome addition to your amazing SW collection.

Rare

When you say rare you really mean rare! Greg great idea and design that cue is Primo!

This cue represents a special arrangement I made with Laurie and Jerry over 20 years ago when
they agreed to make me 2 cues a year.

Greg has done me many a favor over the years and this cue represents my way of saying "I appreciate you too"

If I had not felt obligated to return the favor, this cue would be here with me in Texas along with one other unique cue that I have which can be seen in the gallery

I will never get another one like either one,I only get the 2 cues each year and Laurie needs a break from these special projects

Even with a 10 year wait it is impossible to get another one.Its a shame to think that this cue might end up the pride of a very special collection ,because South West Cues play so very good

I even like the wrapless cues with the South West finish because the finish doesn't get sticky like other wrapless cues do when conditions are unfavorable or high humidity.

I hoped Greg would keep the cue for himself, but who am I to give advice concerning holding onto cues.

When I feel any regret in my pool cue collecting,it is never the one I wish I had not bought,it is
the one I either did not buy,or the one I let get away for example

Willie Mosconi approached me back in the 80s and handed me his Balabushkand asked me for $2800'
"for a pool cue,you must be crazy" I got an autograph and left with no cue, tell me who was crazy?
A certain collector paid $100,000 for that cue that I was afraid to pay $2800

This cue of Greg's will probably be another one that I will regret letting slip away.
I doubt that anyone will ever be able to look at a new cue and say that is a guaranteed winner, like they can with this one.

All South West cues increase in value from the day you buy them, the unusual seem to skyrocket

I would like to thank everyone for all the kind words, public & private!
Larry did an exceptional job on his full splice blank, and l appreciate his efforts.
Most who know me, understand my deep loyalty to Laurie Franklin, and the entire Crew at South West! Thank you Laurie for all the support you have given me these long years.

Mickey Bunker is definitely the Best Cue Maker on the planet, that even most cue enthusiasts don't even know! Mickey has been there since 1985 working to preserve what Jerry started. Al Lawrence has been there almost as long, so give credit to them.
Others are involved too at SW including a grand woman named Stella : )
Cody has come a long way as well.

If you look at every Major Tournament in 2015 in the US and abroad, they were all won with a SW cue, men and women. I do not believe in coincidences, so their is something to the South West mystique!

Last a big congrats to Dean, who l initially called the String Puller. If people think it is easy to get collaboration with SW, just go ahead and try.

So again, thank you to all, the cue hits Damn good!
Regards,
Greg

" South West = The Best "

Congrats Greg on the cue. It surely pops.

Laurie told me they just started making cues for orders placed January 2014 - so the wait is now 12 years.

A special cue from SW is well, special. The thing I respect the most about SW is that Laurie does not deviate from her business practices. Just try to get her to use a different type of wood than what she lists. Ain't gonna happen, no matter how many cues you have bought from her.

I took the 'tour' of their shop a few years ago, she was very welcoming - but no pictures allowed. If anyone gets the opportunity and she welcomes you, I would not hesitate to take her up on it.

(I have four SW - all unchalked - all apart of my retirement plan. #5 will be here in a few weeks. All decked out tulip wood - I'll be posting pics)

I love this cue ,I have always dreamed of a wrappless sw,I will have to keep dream and adore my 2 stunning sugartrees.i see your handle is ga 9 ball are you in Georgia ..I would love to see this cue

Greg, congrats I didn't know Dean was that easy. i'll bet you didn't get any photo's. tell you what my friend i'll play you for it. all you have to do is give me the northern Michigan spot? what do you say? lets do it? just call me & we'll set it up. come on, you got gamble, don't you? you got to many anyway. don aka Sure Man Cues

Dean was that easy?
so that's the story on poor ole dean

I guess the facts support Don's assertion, I let another good one get away
It is a pretty cue, isn't it

it keeps me looking at it over and again,
but in my defense I owed Greg a favor for the things he had done
for me

Best wishes with this beauty, this one will not be duplicated
it is truly a one of a kind
