Really playing well - congrats!!

I just want to express my congratulations/opinion that I love SVB's game. Won some serious $ almost everytime out..

I've seen him play firsthand as recently as 4 weeks ago here in Denver. He comes down here every month or two. Really nice guy.....

Also got to witness the matchups at DCC with the all-world superstars. Shane Van Boening has gotten the majority of the cash, and is the best USA player in his age bracket.

What age bracket? You mean 10 to 100?

Svb

Yep,

I'm thinkin he's the best young player in the USA for the dough, Jay.

Nobody here has his composure and focus at the age of 23. I have seen him gamble really high several times in the last few months - fyi.

Shane is also a well-mannered, well-dressed, young man from a strong family background. He has very close ties to Colorado, and is here all the time.

Been swettin/bettin the action since the seventies....

I think what Jay is trying to say...

is that he is THE best in the USA currently. I don't remember the last time an American player did so well in two major tournaments back to back.

If Jay thinks this guy might be the best the USA has to offer... I like his end of it.

Exactly...........

I too believe SVB is the best player in this country at present. This young man has ice in his veins. He stays down on the ball and strokes every shot. I have yet to see the guy let up on a shot as most others do. He is a likeable guy too. My best wishes, Shane.

I'm not saying Shane is necessarily the best in the country right now. There is still the big three of Johnny, Rodney and Corey. But he is definitely moving up fast. And may be considered the best soon at the rate he is going.

Not to take anything away from SVB, but in Jacksonville Shane was completely tied to the railroad tracks by Danny Harriman. Shane never had a chance in that match at all and Danny played flawlessly.

I wish that they would have stuck with the double elimination format throughout the entire tournament. In my opinion, it doesn't prove anything - nor does it make any sense - when after 4 days of matches you have 16 players that have all lost 1 match a piece. Some players get to lose a match and live to see another day, some lose a match and their tournament is over. It makes absolutely no sense to me, but it must make sense to somebody somewhere.

With that being said, I think SVB was the man to beat that week, and he will continue to be the man to beat at future events. He is playing extremely well and he is focused like a man on a mission. Every time I see Shane his game is getting stronger and stronger. I see his recent success as the start of something very special. It is nice to see a new, fresh player from the U.S.A. taking the top prizes again. I hope the same happens at the 14.1 WC in July.

Imagine that, one pro player played flawlessly and beat another pro player:D

I think that Jay and the others are refering to Shane's overall game. I've only seen him play twice (Vegas and Jacksonville) and he just seems to move a little better than alot of the pros; combine that with his soft touch, safety play and big break, you have to admit he's got a promising future.
