SVB Vs Alex Match Tonight?

I'm talking mano a mano here, not tournament pool. Shane, Hatch and yes Earl as well, have all proven they can play for the cheese (in large chunks). And are willing to take on all comers. I don't see a whole lot of filipinos chasing after the Big D. or Earl for that matter.

That said, I still believe that the Philippines spawns more top flight money players, who are willing to gamble against anyone. We just don't have as much of that type of competition here, except for recent TAR matches. Of course, with Alex and Darren around, that could all be changing too. The biggest problem we have is this is a very big country and all these players are not in close proximity, like they are in the Philippines.

As far as the top Taiwanese players, you are absolutely right. There are a few guys over there that will play anybody who steps on their soil and the sky's the limit. I don't really like anyone's chances over there; filipino, European or American. ;)

Shane, Hatch or Earl? I will take Orcullo, Bustamante and Alex over those three any day in money matches.

I am talking about the present and not the past. Europeans are the current Mosconi Cup winners. How many American players can beat Souquet, Thorsten, Appleton and Mikka.

If you would like to count the matches one Mike Dechaine has beat Thorsten to what Thorsten has beat him in "tourney" play over the last year you lose again. That is just one name. Don't you think IF the Europeans had the best of it they would be beating down the American's doors to play but I don't see many knocking. AND the Mosconi Cup is by far one on one or even real matches, I mean ANYONE who is a top player can beat ANYONE a race to 5. Shoot me a private this year before the Mosconi cup and I'll be happy to take a bet with you, that would be USD not pounds, however I better shut up on that one as the good ole dollar isn't what it use to be.. ;) Amazing you are riding the coat tails on a win last year, who won the year before that? BUT that don't really surprise me, most suck the life out of one victory but quickly forget the losses prior. Nice pot stirring though, I'll give you an A on that lol.

Where do you read that on his Facebook, I just looked up his facebook & all I get is a "Public Figure" profile with some wikipedia description of who he is??? Does he have a real FB profile that he can actually accept friends & such??

Its funny how you mention Thorsten the one European player that has not been playing many tournaments the past year. How about we talk about Souquet and Appleton a little bit. How did Dechaine do against David Alcaide the Spaniard in the US Open?

You're the man! Set it up! :D

You're kind of missing the point here, but that's okay. If you go back and read my original post, you'll see that I didn't say that the top American(s) were any better than the top filipinos or European(s) for that matter. Just that we had one or two (or more) players here, who are not afraid to mix it up in the highest level of pool competition, big money games. And just since we're talking, do you know ANY filipino player (except Alex) who will step into the ring with Shane and bet his own, like Shane does. In this respect Shane, Alex and maybe Darren may be in exclusive company, high line player/gamblers who aren't afraid to stake themselves against the best players in the world. That sir, is a very exclusive company!

No Idea how he did, I would say lost because you just happened to mention it lol. I used thorsten as you put him on the list and I just happened to know the record considering at the time Mike wasn't even't in the top 10 US players. Just tell me this when have you seen Souquet match up with or ask for a matchup against anyone let along Americans. He may be one of the greatest "Tournament" players of all time but you cannot say how he would do for the cash in a long match as you simply do not know. You are basing wins on short crap matches not a real test of long consistancy and a different type of pressure. I know the Europeans games have excelled over the recent years but I don't think they have one bit an edge on the Americans. They to me will have to step up and win some one on one long matches in convincing fashion before I can agree with you.

Based on Photo posted on Twitter looks like 10ball. 9 foot Diamond.

13-2 SVB. Tough to spot a guy 10 points on a race to 40. Having said that Alex has the heart and history to do it but thus far it looks like the SVB show.

Is that the pit table at Pool Sharks? I heard the Cue Club got some Diamonds recently. Anyone know where they are playing?

Cue club race to 40 -

Cue club playing a race to 40. is what Shane posted about 7:30 on Face bk. Thanks to others for posting- thanks Mike FieldHammer for the twitter stuff.Mark

man I so wanna watch this. I'm trying to decide if watching two of the best is worth the 40 min round trip drive and risking my life by walking in the Cue Club parking lot late at night...
