SVB vs Jayson someone make this happen pls.

I'm a little short on memory so I can remember all that good....what events was it again the Shaw has won at the DCC in the past?

He beat Shane for the Bigfoot title in the Finals last year. Must have bumped your head on all those Red Labels your changing out to Blue. You know, being the only man alive that can do it on location and all.

Sorry fellas, your King is dead, he's still just walking around.

That's a pretty broad statement

Shaw is definitely on a roll now. No doubt. But saying Shane is done is imho crazy talk. All the best in the past had times when they got beat. Especially in pool it is super hard to be consistently to the top. So many good players around and still rather short matches played to 11, 9 or even less.

Shane won half the US Opens he had entered! Half! Which is 5 now. Also he was in the 2 WPC finals recently and lost to a lucky Big Ko and to a robot performance from Albin. Maybe Shane has a little burned out, overplayed or whatever. I am convinced it is just a phase and he well get over that and bounce back with full force.

For the first time I saw Shane in 2007 (I think), it did not take very long to dare seeing him as a potential best of all time, like the Ronny O'Sullivan of Pool. For me, Shaw is light years away from such a status and I don't see that he will ever get there.

... Shane won half the US Opens he had entered! Half! Which is 5 now. ...

Here's Shane Van Boening's history in the US Open 9-Ball Championship, with 5 victories in 12 years:

2005 -- 25th/32nd, $1,750
2006 -- 33rd/48th, $!,000
2007 -- 1st, $50,000
2008 -- 17th/24th, $2,000
2009 -- 9th/12th, $4,000
2010 -- 9th/12th, $3,000
2011 -- 17th/24th, $2,000
2012 -- 1st, $25,000
2013 -- 1st, $30,000
2014 -- 1st, $30,000
2015 -- 25th/32nd, $2,250
2016 -- 1st, $50,000

Total winnings -- $201,000

Who needs a race to 100? What matters is who beats who in the biggest spots.

This year, SVB and Jayson found themselves a) meeting in the final of the Bigfoot 10-ball (winner 16,000 loser 8,000) and b) battling for a spot in the US Open final where the winner would have a shot at 50,000.

They split these two meetings, but surely the SVB victory was the more significant.

Greatness is measured in titles, not in who wins exhibition matches.

Here are the head-to-head results that I am aware of for Jayson Shaw vs. Shane Van Boening in 2016. [If they played other matches, please let me know.]

The overall results had Shaw winning 5 matches and Van Boening 2. Shaw's wins were twice in 10-Ball and once each in One-Pocket, 9-Ball, and 8-Ball. Van Boening won once each in 9-Ball and 8-Ball.

Well....

Why is it some one can have a great year and all of a sudden he is unbeatable and another player can have several great years and he is not the equal of the one having his first great year?

It will be interesting to see how many years Shaw's "winning streak" lasts.

He will have to play good for several years to match up with what Shane has done.

Maybe he can, but it will take time to prove it to me.

Where did Alvin go........

I have access to 3 or 4 rooms on our edge of the continent where I would hold a matchup of this caliber - all with Diamond Tables. I heard that Shane isn't too fond of Gold Crowns.

Because a lot of the AZB members have no loyalty and only care about pool as a form of entertainment, and quite frankly....they're bored of Shane and want someone new to entertain them....so they're hoping Shaw is the next great tasting ice cream flavor they've been hoping for.

He's not in favor of GC'S being all screwed up from idiots working on them that don't know what they're doing. In Sioux Falls Shane practiced on a GC3 I rebuilt.....sitting between 2 Diamond 9ft ProAms.

Shaw is riding the wave, right now.

Svb is on the sand, chatting up the chicks and eating good.

Mika is at work nearby.

Peach is in the mountains.

Petroni is nuts.

I'd like to see a race to 100, 10 ball between the two of them for a significant amount of cash. Space it over a few days and sit back and watch some great pool.

They both have two of the highest gears ever in the game - I'd give the edge to Shane in table knowledge/position and Jayson in shot making but that's just my opinion.

Don't who I'd like in that one - maybe Shane but not by much.

Or maybe its that we're realist.

We are not married to these players so where is this loyalty crap coming from?

I think Shaw is playing better right now and I've always liked his style of play. I have no problem with Shane or his playing and enjoy watching him - so does everybody else.

Guess it was worth saying twice lol

Shaw said at Turning Stone he had a 100K match set up with JL Chang to be played in Houston.. It got cancelled when JL and Kevin Cheng cancelled their trip to the US siting a family emergency for Cheng.

it's citing...

It's citing not siting... just so you're aware...:D

I actually think that now that Jayson has slowed down a bit on his safties and is executing them much better, that in a new race to 100 in 10b, I believe that Jayson can beat SVB.

Ruslan beat Shane in a long race. I don't know why Shane is "the man".

LOL. Once he got to Russia they told him its Side Rail break 10ball only... what the hell is that LOL. A pool game where you arent allowed to break from the box...

I'm sure Ruslan was working on a side rail break before the match was even confirmed as being a thing and Shane doesnt find out until a couple days before the match once he already traveled to Russia. It was a gaff game.

Didn't Shane lose in a long race match against a player in Greece too? I think he might've knocked Shane out of the tournament too?

Anyone got his name? I would like to look at his Fargo.

No. Shane completely destroyed the player from Greece. I mean bbq'd him.
Nikos Ekonomopoulos. Made a nice score on side betting. I think the line was
something like 7 games for Nikos and Shane won by almost 30. And Nikos
is a GOOD player.

From 4:4 Shane starts running a package that seems like it will never end,
but he scratches after like 4 racks, but he does it again from 6:8.
