SVB withdraws from future WPA events

I think there’s only a couple paths forward.

WPA relinquishes its self-presumed governing role as the sole universal authority over all pool, specifically relinquishing its assumed authority over Matchroom’s commercialized pool tour. And then events have the opportunity to dual sanction without too many WPA constraints upon them. This may require reigning in the ACBS or kicking them out like what happened with the APBU.

Or the WPA maintains full strict authority over its own private bubble of semi-pro pool aligned with Olympic-affiliated goals and structure. And the WNT continues on unaffiliated and not permitted to participate in the WPA structure and benefits.
Or @justnum could come to the rescue.

Like he did for pyramid and 14.1.

I'm happy the players are standing together but I hope the WPA simply changes its stance rather than disappears completely.
I do not want MR to control all of professional pool. Having every pro tournament PPV in the US is a sure way to kill the future of the sport here.
Pretty much agree with this. There is a place for WPA, but their role must change, and they must get out of the way of male players who make a living at this game.

In men's pool, perhaps the role of overseeing Chinese 8-ball, a fast growing and increasingly lucrative branch of cue-sports will prove to be a very important and substantial role for WPA.

Similarly, WPA remains a positive force in women's pool, which lies outside of the Matchroom world. WPA, through EBPF and the BCA, has had considerable success in improving the lot of women professional players.

Finally, WPA, through financing national federations, continues to have a positive influence in globalizing pool.

WPA, it seems, will not let go of its pipe dream of competing with Matchroom for the services of the male pro pool players by using the politics of fear, but they need to evolve past this to serve the long-term interests of the male players.

To me, WPA can continue to play a major role in cue-sports, but not if they persist in playing the role they that they think they should be playing. Unlike many others, I like having WPA around, but ache for the day when they play a role that is more suited to the best interests of men's pro pool.

BOOM!!! Agree BIG time. Leave pro pool to pros. Its, imo anyway, obvious from WNT's early success that the role of the WPA in pro pool is vastly over-rated.

Writing stories, instructional material or editorials is to influence others.

Strong writing can impact political policy and influence government decisions.

Matchroom can lean on the WPA because their players built pool culture with their lives. It seems to be a nice way to force Asian to pay for the Olympic chase.

WPA can be squeezed anytime by all the players now.

You are gonna do what?

Then tell us which players in the top ten in the world don't' work out.
LOL, I guess it would depend on your definition of "athlete". I work out regularly but am closing in on 60 years old and am 50 pounds overweight. I wouldn't call myself an athlete just because I work out.

Yore fantasyland, again?!?!

Your idiot...we see it.

How many products did you reverse engineer or develop and post on the forum?

BARPA was developed in the early 2000s along with the internet technology employed by social media. It started as a play on DARPA, a defense company. Originally I was a hobby photographer, then skills and abilities were needed.

BARPA developed a fitness program, 14.1 scoring system, air bridge, cue sleeve, non convex cue tips, High Run Society Newsletter, early stages of a 14.1 machine learning system, free object ball detection and a carom guidance system for shooting.

It started when I was in the social of a engineering school. No one had ever met someone enthusiastic about pool and my trips to the pool hall were a curiosity.

I encourage adults and youth to develop their own solutions using technology creatively to disrupt the status.

Are you interested in a free demo or lesson?

Yep. Pool is still a long way from being able to offer free streams much less broadcast which is just about dead a HulaHoop these days.
Predator et al. offers a lot of free streams with good production quality and with good folks in the booth. Heck pimply faced teenagers are making million live- streaming themselves playing video games...there has to be a way it just hasn't been created/discovered yet. Maybe that's where I can make my first million! Off to my special thinking place...also known as the bathroom:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Will the Heyball players fill the field?

The Heyball contracts have limits are they going to benefit from a boycott?

I don’t know.

A couple of months ago I read an article about cornhole… here it is:

And if you wade through all the hoopla about cornhole, about 2/3’s of the way through the article it mentions how streaming platforms are scrambling to sign up live, niche, sporting events.

So who knows what the future holds for pool.

At this rate they can sign jusnumb

The WPA and the ACBS have the riff. The ACBS is using governance and policies to isolate and alienate players.

Research suggests letting the money lead with what it does best. MR is the private market. WPA is the government sponsored competition. The best outcome ten years from now is WPA controls who competes and can win World titles.

Its always about power consolidation. Let the WPA continue as usual that is a popular appeasement policy. Historically appeasement never favored the oppressed.

I like writing opinions on the topic. Maybe film behind the scenes. Competing as dead money, no. Just let me in the event and tv table early to fantasize.

Its worth noting the recurring struggle pool players in America had. Historic statewide bans. Today pool is celebrated and still denied as a hobby or profession with control of its future.

in agreement with the players i will not watch any of their events or spend any money in any way that reaches them or their supporters.

or anyone who trades or does business with them. and would appreciate if people would post those that do so i dont make any mistakes.

no customers no business survives.

thank you.

This stuff pisses me off. But the WPA and related associations can’t get away with this anymore. The world has changed.

MR isn’t perfect by any means, but it is trying to grow the game globally.

Bravo to the top players for sticking together and trying to help their compatriots. Pro pool players are good dudes.

There are a few people competing to be the top complainer. It doesnt solve the problem of lacking majority control of governing votes.

Newsletters might need better local translations to motivate the crowd.
