Ok, so not much has happened so far in the Mid West althought we have met some great people already. Yesterday morning heres what happened to me.
Johnny Earl and myself had agreed to meet at the van at 10.30 as we had a pool school starting at 11.00am.
I am the first one out of my room and the van is parked in front of Johnnys room and he had the keys. As I beging to walk with my cases toward JA's room I notice 2 rough looking guys heading toward me on big and one medium. I didn't pay that much attention to them but by nature I took notice that they didn't look very well dressed and were wearing beanie hats (this just made them look a little more like trouble).
I knocked on Johnnys door to ask for the keys so I could load my stuff. The 2 guys are passing right behind me as Johnny handed me the keys JA closed his door and I went and opened the back of the van. As I open it I see the 2 guys staring back at me, Now I am thinking "oh oh whats going on with these two?" They turned the corner and 2 secvonds later I see them both peeking around the corner at me again. Now I am getting a little concerned. I Started loading my stuff faster and see they have gone again.
I look up and there they are again just watching me. I got everything in the van that I needed to and locked it, and began to walk to my room.
Guess who all of a sudden appears and begins to walk toward me?? Yep the 2 guys who I believe are getting ready to roll me.
I am not a tough guy but I am not going to let someone take my $$ without a fight and so I have my right hand in a fist and I am planning which one I should hit first.
They get closer and one says to me "Excuse me sir" I'm thinking "F&ck here we go". I kept my distance and said "yes". He says " I'm sorryto bother you but was that Johnny Archer in that troom right there? I am a big fan and I have been playing pool for 15 years, I would love to say hi to him" PHEW! My heart rate dropped a little and I told him "yes thats him and he will be out in a few if you are around I am sure that he would be happy to say hello to you"
So it turnes out that these guys are the hotel maintainance and pool players. Anyway Johnny comes out and they have been hanging around to be sure to see him. Johnny takes a picture with them on his camera phone and then Earl comes out of his room right next door. This guy almost crapped his pants and did a double take, he couldn't believe what was going on and took a pic with Earl.
Later that day guess who shows up at the pool room? The muggers, I went over to them and told them my side of the story and they laughed and said "Oh man I'm sorry I can see how that could make anyone nervous" . Anyway, thats it for now.
