Table in garage in maryland

I think you are ok given that you don't really have any extremes, like me in TX. Possibly a dehumidifer but I can't think of anything else.

No extremes. 95+ with high humidity, back to back blizzards. We don't have fall and spring anymore. TX starting to look pretty nice.lol

I have a table on my screened patio in Tampa, FL. Talk about extremes. Most days the humidity goes from 90% in the early morning to 35% in the afternoon and then works it's way back up to the 80% mark by 8pm. If you can keep any kind of a stroke on it your good. Speed and cushions change by the hour. At over 80% humidity the pockets say, "reject" if you barely touch the mouth of the pocket with anything faster than a roll. I love it.

I had no choice where to put a table. Either the patio or no table. Johnnyt

Is the garage dry on rainy days? Is there any insulation, heating or cooling in the garage?

Will you be parking the car next to the table?

The garage stays nice and dry and actually has a nice floor already installed. It's not insulated, but I can easily insulate and weather strip the door (probably worth it in saving energy cost anyway). I don't think it's worth insulating the whole garage unless I put a heater or something in there, and that's already getting into a major project. I can add a dehumidifier with ease, but I think if it's much more than just being able to put a table in there I probably won't bother.

I say put it in. To hell with the changes in temp and humidity. The table will still play, howbeit slightly different.

If you think about playing at a couple of halls or bars, the tables between the establishments vary SO much more than your table in the garage ever will.

I have my table inside my garage here in the Seattle area... where it's well known how much moisture there is in the air for most of the year.

When I installed my table the garage interior was unfinished... exposed studs and no wall insulation. I have since finished the interior and have a couple of heaters for the winter. I love it.

I say go for it. ;)

I have a table in my garage here in Big D. It gets hot in the garage, when it hits 100 outside. Best times to play is real early in the morning or late in the evening. As far as worrying about the table, I won't think twice. If you love to play, you will us it. The table will be fine.;)

I'm thinking maybe three to four hundred years, tops.
I'd go with NewStroke's idea on the dehumidifier to. :)

Don't worry about it. I have had a Diamond table in my barn for around 5 years now. Gets to 100 degrees in there and down to whatever the winter brings.

In the last year I built a room around the table and insulated it. Put in a portable air conditioner with a super fan for the real hot days and it doesn't get above 80%. In the winter I have a portable electric heater(EdenPure) - it works great. I also fire up a couple of small dish type heaters and it warms up to around 60% on a freezing day. A sweater works fine.

But to note: I did have a cheap Chinese built table in there and it didn't do well at all because of its lousy construction. The slate moved apart like ice in global warming.

For for it - within a doubt.
