Hi,


what do you do to keep the table clean when you used the talc-powder etc...


I know that a lot of people used more than he need, but if I put in my hands ( fingers ) a little, on shoot that the CB is near the rail and used the bridge on the rail in that kind of shoots the rail gets dirty with a white line, anybody have this problem?

wet towel to used in your hands, to keep clean and smooth?

to clean the cloth I used quick-clean, so that´s not the problem.

What I´m trying to find it´s something that I can used to keep my hands dry, because when I play about 1-2 hours, my hands start to sweat.

some people recommend me to used the pro-glide:

I don´t want to use glove and I realize that talc it´s a mess unless I used carefully, but when you´re concentrate in a match it´s hard.
 
First vacuum with a medium power vacuum. DO NOT use a Shop Vac. Try to stay away from the slate joints. Then use a DAMP towel to wipe bed and rails down.

Juan...Why not use a glove? Many top pros use a glove these days. I keep one in my case to use when I am doing a show somewhere the humidity is very high. It is the easiest solution to your problem. Otherwise, wash your hands with soap and water frequently.

i use lots of talc, my hands arre the wettest hands ever, if you use it properly none of it will end up on the table, all you have to do is rub it into your hands then wipe then on your shirt/pants, and youll have dry hands and a little of it on your cloths, i have to do this every 10 minutes, I also wash my hands every 15-20 minutes, with clean hands and the talc rubbinto your hands it wont get on the cloth, if it transfers from your hands to the cloth, your just not using it right, just practice it a bit and rub it into my hands and then wipe the excess on your shirt/pants and you'll have dry hands and a clean table.
 
Scott, I used glove for many years, the reason that I swift to stop using glove it´s that I don´t want to depend all my life with it, What happen if I lose it or broken in a tournament?,

On the other hand, it´s true what people said, without glove you feel better your shaft.

I´ll test pro-glide and if not works maybe use talc, maybe get a damp towel as souquet told me, at the end the last option it´s the glove.

I don't like gloves because they DO NOT glide. They are sticky.

I bought a glove liner at Hudson Bay Ourfitters and it is far superior to any glove that I have ever used, and this is why I am coming up with my opinion that pool gloves suck.

Anybody else have a simiar conclusion?

Maybe you're not choosing the right glove. Try St. Joseph Billiard Glove (and I am not a person that is endorsing this or any of that nature!). Last time I used one, it can glide. I would use one in carom when I have the chance. Just try to wash it every now and then.
 
I'm not a fan of gloves myself. I keep some SlipStik in my case, and only have to use it every few months as it lasts forever.
 
Just go out and buy some really strong anti-perspirent, my hands sweat alot and with the humidity level where I live can make keeping my hands dry pretty tough. This works until you wash your hands a couple of times then you need to apply some more.
 
As has already been suggested, wash your hands frequently and dry them well.

In between handwashing, use a little Purell or similar hand sanitizer.

Squeeze a small amount of the hand sanitizer into one of the palms of your hands, and then rub the sanitizer all over your hands. Wipe it off / dry it with a paper towel or a small wascloth sized towel and presto..you're good to go! The sanitizer will remove all sweat, oils, grease, etc., from your hands and leave them feeling smooth, clean , and dry as a bone.

After a long day or night of shooting pool put a little hand lotion on hour hands to moisturize them and prevent your skin from cracking due to the drying action of the hand sanitizer.

I buy Purell in the small travel size bottles (usually on sale for $1.00). The small bottle fits easily into a pouch in my cue case.

Secaucus Fats, I can imagine you could speak spanish, well I´ve got some bottles of purell, but here it´s more expensive about 5-6 $ a bottle of only 2 Oz. when I used it my hands get clean but when started again to sweat then my hands get more sticky of combination purell and oil, it´s a little bit hard to explain in English to me.

If you understand that it makes a mess, and your hands sweet, so you need something WEAR A GLOVE!!!!!!

Yo uso una toallita pequena o papel de toalla imediatamente despues de untar el Purell gel (antes de que tenga tiempo de evaporarse). De ese modo toda la grasa, sudor, y tisa es transferida a la toalla y muy poco de el Purell permanece en mis manos. El resultado es que las manos se sienten mas limpias, mas secas, y sin ningun rasgo de pegajosidad.

Ahora, si el Purell te resulta muy caro (y cono.. $5-$6 por dos onzas es una estafa) puedes comprar alcohol en la farmacia (la misma clase que se usa para sanar heridas pequenas). Hecha un poco en un frasco pequeno que quepa en tu estuche y puedes usar el acohol de la misma manera que usarias el gel. El resultado es igual. :)

Yo soy Americano de descendencia Cubana. Mi abuelo QEPD era isleno.

Thats what I do when I am building cues - wipe the excess epoxy, glue, finish, etc on my clothes (usually when I don't have time to find a rag):D :D . I am in deep trouble (with the wife) if I come home and go into the shop to finish something up without changing into my "work" clothes --- 'cause once that epoxy is in a shirt it NEVER comes out :rolleyes:
