Diamond no more has the "table mechanic's" for this kind of set up on the pockets than "Brunswick" does. Changing the corner pockets to 4 1/8" has nothing to do with the Diamond factory....or Diamond table mechanic's...that's an after production change...NOT done by the factory. They build the ProAms to a certain spec...4 1/2" ProCut pockets...they don't build custom sizes of pockets...so, yes...I know what Diamond can do...and what they can't...or won't do. So...I don't think "faith" has anything to do with it....but I do believe and have "faith" in the fact that Diamond builds the "best" factory built "PRO" table in the world.
Call up ANY table manufacture and ask them if they'll build you a pool table with 4 1/8" corner pockets...then get back to me and let me know which ones you found that'll do that
I just called King Browns in Xiamen China and they said that they will make pool tables with any size pockets the customer desires. They install about 20ish tables a day and regularly do 4.125 and 4" pockets for the "pro" tables in the pool rooms they outfit.
Regarding the thread and this table non-issue; The poster says TAR21. TAR has successfully produced 20 previous PPV dream matchups. They have done this with Diamond for most of them and with no table "issues" to really speak of. The ONLY time that there was a table issue was with a 10foot OLD table and at the end of the day both players agreed to play on it and were satisfied with it.
There is really no need for you to insinuate that if TAR doesn't use you, someone you trained, or the rails you did that the table won't play right. No need for you to do that AT ALL.
We get it that you are a perfectionist when it comes to table engineering. I can totally respect that as I am the same way when it comes to case engineering. But guess what? I have come to realize that a case doesn't have to be made just like I think it should be made for the user to enjoy it. And tables don't have to be set up with your degree of perfection for players to enjoy playing on them. TAR has earned the right not to be questioned about how their tables are set up. If the players aren't happy with the table I am certain that TAR will take care of it until the players are fine with it.
You are the best table mechanic in the USA and probably the world. I know several mechanics who testify to that and they have never worked with you or for you. But you are not the only one who can do good work, not the only one who can do satisfactory work. Before you got in the business pool was played all over the world on tables set up by people who never heard of you and in fact pool continues to be played at extremely high levels on tables set up by people who have no idea who you are.
So let it go please. TAR knows what the are doing and I'd rather talk about the impending battle.
