This Thursday night we will have our TAR 29 Podcast at 9 PM eastern. Shane is in 100% and Dennis will hopefully make it I do not have confirmation from him yet.

As we have started doing in the past when players are in the studio they will be up around the table hitting balls and demonstrating things they are talking about.

If you have any question you would like the players to answer please post them up there. The podcast is this Thursday at 9PM eastern on www.theactionreport.com. The TAR 29 match itself begins the next day, Friday at 7 PM Eastern with the 8 ball portion of the match:Race to 15.

The link to purchase the match will be up later today.

If Dennis makes it into the studio I would be interested in seeing and hearing him talk about his cueing. I think I've noticed that he glides his cue under his chest (similar to how snooker players do it). I don't see a lot of pool players do this. I'm curious if he actually is doing this or not.

Anything with Dennis around the table would be really cool.

side spin

I'd be interested in their opinions on english(sidespin) Just general talk about side english. What percentage of shots do they use it & if so when, for what reasons,(position) What type of shots? Etc. Also, do 'they' compensate for CB swirve & if so how, Back hand english, combination, aim, etc.

Justin,
Your inbox is full, how do I get in contact with you for some tickets of the Van Boening and Orcollo match?

You should ask Shane how he feels about matching up with any one playing 1P. How he feels his game has progressed, what his comfort level playing it for money, etc.

It seems that Shane's 1P game is a hot topic for debate here. I'd like hear what he thinks!!

best,

Justin

dennis

well, since shane *IS* TAR and he has more than one occasion showed what hes does, we should have dennis get on that table and talk about how he aims and his thinking when trying to runout. and *DO NOT* let him get away with the typical filipino "I don't know I just play" or "I just shoot I don't have any strategy" 'cause that's bull. just let him get comfortable and make him feel that we the viewers really want to know what's going through that brilliant pool mind of his. just tell him to shoot, and talk while he thinks and not be afraid or shy in front of the camera.

Ask them if they know any postal delivery drivers, whether they have knives sharp enough to open shipping cartons, and if they like KOA wood for their cues. Wait, that was last week? Oh....

Ok, then ask them how they aim. (Yikes, ducking now  )

So ask them what their impressions were of playing on the 10-footers, and if they like the idea of more tournaments using them or not. And before Celtic beats me to it, are they enjoying the current 8-ball stuff, and would they like more 8-ball tournies instead of the rotation games.

Looking forward to the podcast. Thanks for doing them. Good luck with the match, to all concerned.

Cues

I would love to hear about their current cue, and previous cues.

What do they look for in a cue?
Cue specs: weight, length, solid wood shaft or low deflection.
Tip size, type of tip?

Thank you.

Really looking forward to seeing some true professionals playing!
Keep up the great work,
Best wishes,
Sanj

I want to hear what their most memorable and biggest win and loss both in gambling and tournament play were.

Well I would of course love to hear their thoughts on the 10-foots as they have now had a chance to play on them abit and whether they think that pro pool should start making a shift towards them being the standard table for professional play.

SVB was also asked once whether he thought 8-ball would work as the pro game. Now that he has had a chance to play pro level events on the 10-foot tables I would like to hear if his thoughts have changed at all after being given a chance to play the game on the much different playing surface.

I am also curious with his huge amount of recent success in top end professional 1-pocket events if SVB thinks he might be at or near the top in that game as well at this point.

There has been alot of debate on whether he might not be a serious threat to Frost at this point in a long 1-pocket match and whether SVB might not already be the best 1-pocket player in the USA and thus on the planet.

#1. What do each think is the best attribute their respective opponent has for playing pool?
#2. Ask each player where they think they have the biggest advantage in playing each other? (game or equipment, etc.)
#3. What do they like & dislike most about pool?
#4. What would they be doing if pool didn't exist?

Give their sponsors a little plug.

The Basics:
What equipment do you play with? (playing cue and breaking cue)
Cue-MAKER, Brand/MODEL
Shaft brand/MODEL
Shaft type: LD or TRADITIONAL maple shaft.
Shaft length
Shaft taper
Shaft diameter at tip.
Tip type
Chalk preferred.
------------------------------------
Most 9 ball racks ever run in practice or gambling (bar table or 9 foot table)

I had some knuckle-head trying to tell me Orcollo played with a 14 mm diameter ferrule/tip. (I know that isn't true.)

break?

i want to hear about their break shot.

pattern racking

speed

position of the cue ball

body movement, follow through, stance

english

luck

it seems to me from watching dennis break 10 ball he doesn't make too many balls, only one, maybe two, thus giving himself more opening shot opportunities. for example, watch alex p. make 5 balls on the break playing 9 ball and have nothing. am i imagining this? also, what went wrong with shane's 8 ball break in the 6 man round robin last week?

At their level of play the equipment really makes very little difference and comes down to personal preference. I remember how Jimmy Conners once replied to an equipment question from a tennis reporter: It makes no difference; we could play with two-by-fours and it would be the same game.

I'd like to hear their opinion on what can be done to make pool more popular.

How they mentally gear up for a match? Do they prefer winner breaks or rotating break? What their favorite game is and why.

What do they do when they're not "working"?

Question for Shane

Shane- You recently lost to Johnny Archer...Bustamante...if Earl hadn't of threw in the towel....that would have been close. You also lost to Earl on the 10 footer. Is there any added pressure for you in this match to get back on the winning track?

Also-Do you think Dennis is the best 10 ball player in the world? Excluding yourself in the event thats your answer.

Dennis will be arriving in Vegas tomorrow afternoon. He will be there for the Podcast!
P.S. We've been watching the World Series of Poker on TV (he loves to play also) and now he's watching UFC fighting and hitting balls.

1. Does SVB believe he can maintain his high level of play and practice if he was to get married?

2. Who is the next Dennis O from the Philippines? (For Dennis)

3. Who is the next SVB? (fro SVB)
