Shane and Darren will be in the studio for pre match podcast this Thursday. The plan is to have the guys mic'ed up and hitting balls around the table while we ask them questions submitted by people in this thread and in the live chat.

So if anyone has anything they would like these two to talk about just post it up here.

I did not see the video on Youtube of the last podcast, do you know when it will be up? As for questions I would ask Darren about his aiming method for those who are curious. It is interesting both players are the best in the world and use a system. What does Shane and Darren attribute much of their success to?

This may have been asked previously...but, I wonder why Darren's focus is more pool than snooker.

While a great ambassador for the sport and happy to have him, why pool?

He probably could make more money in snooker without all the travel and related expenses.

As for SVB, at what point does he plan on having a family, if at all? Same could be asked of Darren.

Lastly, I know Shane has a pool room back home but having watched both players for several years now with all their success, what are they investing in or preparing for a 'rainy day'?

Just wondering!

Fav shots

Please get them to shoot their favourite shots at the table. And perhaps shots that they dislike aswell. Thanks.

Questions for both:
1. If one them could not play in TA30 but was allowed to put ANYONE in as a proxy for their cash. Who would they put up against the other guy. Current player playing at Today's level. ie. No Mosconi, No Efren in his prime stuff etc.

2. What accomplishment is on your bucket list?

3. Based on your championships to date. Are you hall of fame worthy and will you make it in?

Darren has always been a blackball (English 8-ball) player, and I don't recall him ever playing snooker.

But these are interesting questions from the viewpoint of "if you're in one of the crucible areas of snooker [i.e. the U.K.], why did you avoid getting into that more-lucrative sport, and choose pool instead?" Very interesting viewpoint.

Would love to see one of these questions lobbed at Darren, to see what he says.

I like this question.

being back to back one pocket champ at dcc, how does he think he would do in an ahead set with the freezer even. what are each players strenghs and weaknesses. is there any chance of this in the future of tar?

for both players
if you dont win the tar free roll
does it hurt like a loss in a gambling match?
or is this more a fun set for you?

In 2012, Darren make significant strides forward in his all around play, finishing second at the US Open one-pocket event in Vegas and third in his very first appearance in the Dragon Promotions 14.1 event in NYC.

Would love to know whether he feels that developing his skills in other games has helped his 9/10 ball game and how.

With Shane playing as strong as he is right now I would like to know if he feels he has any weak parts of his game...or things he practices more than others.

For Shane: If you had $100,000 to gamble with and you spent 3 months in the Philippines and 3 months in Taiwan/China and took on all comers even on any table/any location do you think you would be ahead after the six months?

For Darren: How do you aim? Please allow Darren to demonstrate without interrupting him if possible if he is willing to show us.

I can answer #3. Both are world champions and winning any world championship is an automatic qualification for the Hall of Fame. So they will both get in but in what year after they are eligible isn't know. I would say that they are both a lock to get in within the first five years of eligibility since pretty much all the old guard has been inducted.

What specific aspects do Shane and Darren respect about each others' games?

When they're practicing and/or training for a tournament, what do they work on?

How do each of them mentally prepare for a match/tournament, and how do they maintain their focus throughout?

*edited to add 2 questions: Having played around the world, how does the game change depending on where you are, and what would you like to see more of, as professional pool players, both in the United States and outside the United States?

As ambassadors of the sport and leaders, what ideas do you have to "bridge the gap" between casual/league players and top-level players to broaden the appeal and audience of pool?

I like this question. Shane may not be a 1P specialist like Scott is, but this would be something of a mega-match.

Have (either of) you ever taken something from another player (mechanics, technique, strategy, etc.) and incorportated it into you own game? What was it and from whom did you emulate it?

...

I would love to hear Darren answer this question. Shane's said in the past that he works a lot on rail shots and his break. What's he working on now?

Also, how many hours a day do these guys have to practice/play to stay in top form?
