TAR and its future...(dosent look good IMO)

TAR is a great concept; it needs to e integrated though for it to succeed. There are several websites and sponsors who could use TAR footage for their personal gain. If TAR establishes a relationship with a few retailers, poolhalls, merchandisers, etc.... they could keep afloat...IMO

Hey TAR

My employer blocks video by port blocking and by blocking targeted web sites. For example; I can't get to Ustream at work, but I can go to your site. While at your site, the video is missing. The video is blocked by targeting certain ports that cross the firewall. If you can switch ports to 80 or 443 or port forward to one of those ports then the only way for the administrator to block them is to block all internet or just target certain web sites. If you can do this, I would be able to puchase the stream more often. I am not a computer geek, so if I'm in error, someone knowlegeable please chime in. Firewall purgatory must be anhilated in our lifetime.

BIG MONEY BACKING ---- the rejuvination of pool needs big $$$$ to survive. Why don't we see table manufactures like Brunswick and Diamond, and Olhausen as well as cue stick makers and pool accessory people dumping big $$$$$$$ into these events??? If the people that make our supplies won't support us ....... what does that tell you about their good will toward their customers??? Any $$$ they dump into our sport is an advertising writeoff for them. Has TAR gone to BIG BUSINESS for support??? Have they talked to the Diamond and Brunswick people about adverising tables on their broadcasts??? If TAR has gone to these potential sponsors, then WHY WON"T THEY support TAR? If they are supporting TAR, to what extent are they supporting TAR? How much $$$ has TAR gotten from the major manufactures?? Some have mentioned LEADERSHIP ... who better to lead than the company making the table they are playing on??? GOOD LUCK and I hope you get some BIG $$$ sponsorship.

Not one person has mentioned the suspension of Jasmine as a reason for people not purchasing the PPV, yet more than one person in the Jasmine thread had mentioned they weren't going to subscribe because of this.

When there is a small market to begin with, even a small boycot can have a big impact.

I have only purchased one TAR production and that was because all their freebies I could not wathc much either. My service was too slow and buffered away too much.

It was so slow that people were typing what happened several minutes before I actually got to see it.

But that is hopefully fixed now. I upgraded my dsl a couple of weeks ago.

As for the WPBA, I am like Vette I don't care about watching women play. I like testosterone in pool not the estrogen.lol

What I find bizarre is that I go to theactionreport.com and they show a schedule of yesterday's matches ONLY. Then below that, click to order.

How does that entice anyone to order?

it would be pure speculation to try and predict the future. jcin and myself are learn as you go. we do these tournaments to see if there is any hope for streaming tournaments. we specalize in TAR action matchs. when WE have control and can advertise our own programs and dont have to wait on anybody for a go ahead so they get advertised properly and far enough ahead so that we can generate some intrest in them. we are a 2 man crew and do what we can we are going to concentrait on new dvds of our stuff and start plannning more of our stuff..... dont give up on us yet..... thanks to all of you that bought the ppv and the tar gear and dvds we will have more coming soon! thanks again nasty and jcin

You guys are Awesome! I am unable to do the PPV, but have bought almost every DVD set and numerous shirts. I hope you can continue to fill a niche in the pool world that brings much more of this great game to us action junkies. I am looking forward to the next Action Challenge, any idea who will take on Alex????

There is a carom site that has a deal where you can buy the DVD or pay for to watch the match(2 times i think) as a feed anytime you like, this is a good idea.

When we were in Va JCIN turned the feed into a PPV which was naturally his call, it could have been great if there was a huge match or a disaster if there was no match, it was a shot he took and I think he made the right call. But what would be better is to know, imagine this idea. TAR is at the US Open next year and has their set up like this year and recorded every night all night at the pool room, then edited out the hours of nothing leaving behind what ever happened and then took that footage and marketed that, it isnt live but if that 1P game I staked SVB in all 3 games was avaliable to see people would have watched it after all the arguing here about me pulling up too fast. It woud be great to watch anytime. The pricing of it could be very affordiable for the amount of hours. This isnt TAR's main biz I know I'm just suggesting it in addition to their main model, Chad is so good in the booth and with the right game its worth something and will sell for many years to come.

Can someone even tell me where to find a schedule for today? Because it certainly isn't on theactionreport.com website.

Go to wpba.com, it has it listed there. Some of the matches you don't know ahead of time who is playing because they are deciding as the tournament goes since you really don't know who will be playing who. Right now they are showing Xioating Pan and Kim Shaw with fabulous commentary!
