TAR Matches You'd Like to See

Allen Hopkins and Nick Varner playing 1 hole. Cris Gentile and Shannon Daulton playing bank and 1 hole. Johnny Archer and Efren playing 10 ball. Hennesse and Shane on a barbox. Hennesse and Shuff big table 10 ball.

Shane vs Appleton: 8-ball on a tight cut diamond 10-foot

Shane vs Chang: 10-ball on the TAR 9-foot

Chang vs Busta (current 10-ball king no?): 10-ball on the TAR 9foot

Alex vs Appleton: 8-ball on a tight cut diamond 10-foot

Wu vs Shane: 10-ball on the TAR 9-foot

Wu vs Shane: 8-ball on a tight cut diamond 10-foot

Shane and Bowman on bar tables, on a Diamond, Shane has the best of it, on a Valley it would probably be a lot more even.

Banks ring game. Short rack. $5000 buy-in. 10-foot table. No safety play allowed till the last 2 remaining players of the Sunday finals.

Balls are initially worth $50 each. Every 3rd game, the ball value doubles. War of attrition.

First day (Friday) there are 5 players at the table. Three players are to be eliminated. The 2 left standing move on to Sunday.

Second day (Saturday), the same format with 5 other players. Top two players there also advance to Sunday.

On Sunday, those 4 top players meet for the final Banks ring game. Balls start at $100 each. They double in value every other game. One player will be left standing.

I'd love for it to be winner-take-all, but in reality, I'd pay the final 3.

You have $50,000 in entries.

1st - $25,000
2nd - 15,000
3rd - 10,000

My 10 would be:

John Brumback
Shannon Murphy
SVB
Shannon Daulton
Keith McCready
Brandon Shuff
Efren Reyes
Freddy the Beard
Nick Varner
Truman Hogue

A nice mix of current players and Legends. Mic up the table and watch the fireworks.

That would be really cool but I don't see how you can have a 10 man feild of bankers without Tony Fargo

I dunno maybe Jesse Engle v.s Ronnnie Wiseman one pocket only!! Young v.s older would be cool.. Pass on the 10 ball break/10hrs practice daily guy..:boring2:

Jean and Alison Fisher 9 ball best of 3 sets race to 25 to settle it all. I would take Jean in hot second. Has to be call shots or Jean wouldn't even consider it

Does Jean still play? If so I would love to see her in action. Only seen her in 1 match against Robin

I know she owns a poolhall in Brooklyn and I couldn't image her not playing anymore. Somebody like her and her accomplishments im sure she has a very deep strong love for the game that will never fade go out or die. Even at 52 years old I bet she can still hit them sporty. Wish she never left the pool world but I dont blame her in the slightest.

I would put the farm on Jean to win 2 straight sets

It's not going to happen...I would've loved to see them match up when both
were at the top of their game....I would take Jean, but would not be surprised
if I had to pay.

I'd like to even see 8 cockroaches racing the length of a 9' table just to know TAR is alive and well . Johnnyt

SVB and Bowman on the Barbox
Hennesse and Bowman on the Barbox

I'm watched a lot of TAR matches, almost all of them. I have become a little jaded because we've really seen the best players of the world go at it and finally settle some thoretical arguments.

To take a break from the known champions, I like the idea of a "Gambler's" series - matches between lower profile money players we don't get to see too often in tournaments. Hennesee, Bowman, Bartram, Mills, Bennett, Mike Davs - players like that Get Billy Incardone and Jay to work the booth

CAN'T WAIT!! Money is on Micaela, even without the handicap!

This is just me,but I'd like to see something out of the ordinary here.

If I had to pick the next match,I'd like to see Shane,or another truly elite player, try and outrun one of those Scooter-type gaff games or some of the spots Dippy got against a solid player in their own right, but not someone that would be considered a known quantity, like an Average Joe-type that plays maybe a ball or 2 under Bartrum for example.

The interesting twist to this would be the match would have to be streamed from the Average Joe's home court, unless he felt comfortable trying to deal with that notoriously tough table.

I'd also like to see the previously mentioned male vs. female scenario.

It least with a woman involved, you wouldn't have to worry about dumb shit going on in the background, and make it about the game, not histrionics. Tommy D.

SVB and Archer scotch doubles against Appleton and Mika in 10 ball, 8 ball and 1 pocket. Best two out of three.

you almost got it right;)
, Archer and Shannon. JA played some scotch one hole with Shannon recently and said it was great, they have good chemistry. I like this pair a hair more than SVB, to sweat. either way it would be great.
