TAR ripped me off - Please read

This thread is a GOOD example of customer service. Kudos to you JCIN and Big Nasty!

Who is this JCIN and Big Nasty you speak of?

Also, the picture in your avatar looks like some of the ones on the naughty sites I've been forced to look at every day. I like it.

LOL, a lot of cropping in that photo?

Frankly I would not mind if the thread were deleted. I'm happy with the end result.

I do not owe them an apology and I kept this private for quite a while to be honest. Its not like I never contacted TAR or tried to in case most of you read.

I also am a business owner and greatly apprecaite the value that TAR brings to the community.

Mods/admins if you want to change to the title thats fine by me at this point. I'm satisfied.

I actually took the money that TAR refunded me and bought MORE merchandise from them.

Unfortunately there isn't exactly a recourse for a buyer in this situation other than bringing the situation public. Three months is a long time to keep something like this under wraps. Perhaps I should have tried contacting Jason instead and for that I apologize.

Sounds good to me. It's tough to say sometimes!

You publicly accused them of being thieves. Was that true? Or did they just make a mistake?

If you agree that they are not and never were thieves, then you owe them an apology!

How would you feel if someone accused you of stealing in your business, when in fact you simply overlooked something?

Ray

I never said they were thieves. Being ripped off can come in a lot of forms. They did not break into my house and steal anything.

For example, if you performed shoddy work setting up a table and the legs fell off the next day....and you were very unresponsive about correcting the issue I would say I was ripped off. In retrospect perhaps I should have contacted Jason, but I did not and for that I am sorry, but thats about it.

Case closed lets move on.

Absolutely true! I've been recording dvds of my student's lessons for a few years now, and out of hundreds of dvds, I've had two that were defective.
The first I couldn't fix. The second (which happened just a few weeks ago), I sent out to a place who said they can retrieve the video. I hope they can. The info is vital to my student's retention!

On topic here, the TAR guys are always completely upfront, and I have never heard one bad thing about mistakes or bad disks, that weren't taken care of immediately (or at least as soon as they could get to it). As someone who travels for a living, I can attest to the fact that sometimes things do slip through the cracks, and get "lost in the shuffle". Great job Chad & Justin!

It is possible for a few DVD's to be corrupt. It's happened to me. Not from TAR, but from burning DVD's from my own tournaments.

I'm thinking growing pains here. Growth takes a lot of cash and time. 2 things that can screw anything up....time & money.

I wished the TAR guys were perfect, but that will never happen.

I really cringe when I see the "infamous" red thumb down.

TAR ripped me off - Please read????? Give me a break people.

The title should've read :

Fellow AZers - I Need Help with a TAR Purchase . Maybe with a green arrow pointing to the right.

There are many here that would be willing to help. Bashing threads are NO good! Period.

Sincerely,

Ray
I'm confused - you say bashing threads are no good then proceed to bash the guy repeatedly for doing what he had to do to get satisfaction. I for 1 think he owes no apology he has made it clear he is satisfied and would do business with them again. I agree TAR usually does a fine job for a fair price. In this case the guy tried in a reasonable fashion to resolve his problem and when that failed finally took it to the court of public opinion.
The results speak for themselves.

Who is Jason?? Did I miss something?? Or, do you mean Justin??

I too may have started a thread for help with the situation. The title was the problem. Nobody was getting ripped off.

I guess it depends on what the definition of "is" is.

And no the ends doesn't jusify the means.

I will take the liberty to be redundant on this thread.

TAR / JCIN and Nasty have proven to me over and over that they are some of the most honest and stand up guys I know. They help the pool community as much as any business I know. Their resolution in this case is more than a court would have provided, as they gave the customer both the item they wanted, his money back and other items.

I agree with Big Truck, the least that could be done is an apology. Period! To not provide that is the lack of basic courtesies. Some people dont have it with in themselves to be nice even when they are treated in the exemplary way that JCIN handled this.

You do realize the DVD's were ordered in July? This is December, if I or anybody else for that matter hadn't had their problem resolved in that amount of time I/they would feel like they were being ripped off PERIOD no matter who it was by. TAR admitted they dropped the ball and have fixed the problem.(TAR DROPPED THE BALL IN CASE YOU DIDN"T GET IT THE FIRST TIME) He has edited his post and owes NOBODY an apology. You on the other hand will not let it go.
