TAR Viewing Numbers

So after the first night of play, I am really curious if TAR had the number of viewers they were looking for. I am also curious how many were streaming.

I could not personally find a number, but if someone has an idea, I am anxious to hear how the match went over sales wise.

I really hope it went well because this was the first TAR match I watched and I really enjoyed every second of the first night, well worth the money.

Any insight is awesome.

Thanks,
Ben

I would think they need at the least 200-300 PPVs to make anything after all the cost of everything. I am not sure but I hope it was a success and when I was streaming last night I constantly let people know about it along with spreading the word other places online. I really hope this one does well because its one of the most exciting matches that will ever be put together. :)

probably gonna be tuff considering its running in the middle of the week.

Towards the end of Accu-Stats stream of the Worlds 14.1 Event we also gave multiple plugs for TAR's upcoming classic match up. I hope they get the support they are looking for !

couldn't watch the stream

I paid for the stream around 4:30 pm cause I really wanted to see it as I buy most of their streams. But this time I watched them warm up and when it came time to switch to the stream, it would not load. It kept saying loading and stuff . After help and trying for about a hour and half I gave up and figured after deleteing stuff and closing firewalls as requested and downloading firefox . I still could not watch it:mad: Anyhow I pm TAR and they said they would refund my money. The only thing I can think of is my wife switched to verizon innernet and maybe its something with that as I purchased all the ones in the past.........

I see on a regular basis how hard Justin Collett works on TAR. He has developed something that promotes the sport, allows players to make money, allows others who love the sport the opportunity (as has the fabulous team at Accu-Stats) the ability to watch world class pool for a reasonable cost via PPV or DVD's from the comfort of our homes and computer screens. So many of us learned to play better from the Accu-Stats and TAR DVD's...yep true now raise your hands who agree :)

Don't know the numbers either...but if you know anyone who loves pool and who may not be so involved that they hang out in the forums or read the publications - let them know about TAR (and Accu-Stats for that matter - the AccuStats game show is the bomb), tell them about the web sites, talk about what is going on.

There are tens of millions of amatuer players in the U.S and around the world yet it is only a very small handful who are truly aware of this side of the sport.

For example: yesterday a sweet gentleman walked into the CSI office asking our advice on local peeps here in Las Vegas with whom he could take lessons. After Bill Stock, Mark Estes and myself discussed and suggested a couple of people to him, he noticed that on one of my monitors was the TAR stream (it was about 4 pm Pac. Time) so the TAR match was just starting.

He recognized Shane and Mika but was not aware of TAR or the match. So I gave him all the information and he plans to purchase the two day ($20) PPV.

:) all it takes is positive word to mouth that would help bolster our sport.

Have a great Wednesday everyone. Remember WE, all of us, are the best promoters of the sport that we have. Tell and invite your friends to league night, when a tournament is in town and you know about it, tell your other friends about it! We're in this together.

Instead of Tap,Tap, Tap... how about TAR, TAR , TAR?

Thanks Holly, a great suggestion... TAR,TAR, TAR:wink:

Why not put flyers or send out news letters by the pool leagues for upcoming TAR matches? Seems to me a way of letting millions of pool players (new customers) know about TAR. Even if less than 1% bought the PPV it would be huge. Johnnyt

I don't think the new player has a viewer count, but there were 325 people watching the lead-in show on ustream. No idea how that translates to actual PPV though.

I also promoted the show through plugs on my last show, and the show in NY.

A commercial to run about the match would have been the nuts, but it wasn't available.

Even on our best show we do good to average .50 a viewer in contributions. I know it's a tough economy but if we don't support the guys covering these events and the companies that are sponsoring them, It will all go away.

I'll be watching again tonight!

(can't pay the bills but has the PPV)

I play in leagues and I am astounded by how many "serious" players are unaware of TAR or any other live streaming events for that matter. I am more than happy to bring TAR, bigtruck, accu-stats, OTR etc.. to their attention, and they are usually enthusiastic about the idea. I also think hanging flyers is a good idea, but the problem arises when I ask them if they watched the TAR match. 99% of them say I would never pay to watch a match! That is ridiculous, almost like it is ludicrous to ask for money to watch a great match.

With that being said I am proud to say I have purchased every TAR match since I became aware of TAR matches. I hope TAR gets the numbers they wanted for this match. I am and will be a TAR, bigtruck, accu-stats, OTR etc... supporter for as long as they stream matches.

TAR, bigtruck, accu-stats, OTR keep up the great work.
