Since everything is so bad here in Vegas the cab drivers will take you past disney land on the way to the pool room and we dont even have a Disney Land here in town. To milk you out of as much $$$ as tehy can. So to save my friends some $$$ and give the cab drivers what they deserve I decided to knock their action and side with the pool players. I know one player who drives a cab, and he is a stand up guy.

The routes below are absolutely the fastest chepest routes to the pool rooms from the Riv and the sorrounding area, if you tell the cab driver the route and he says your wrong-he is lieing pure and simple. I really want to knock their action, So here are the best fatest routs possible from The Riv/Circus-Circus.

There are only 3 pool rooms in Vegas that I know of.

1. Cue Club is closest to the Riv. turn right comming out of the Riv going north to Sahara BL, Take a right and go about 1.5 miles, Turn into Commercial center by turning right on Coommercial Center Dr. and when you enter Commercial center Turn right again and in 50 yards your at Cue Club, you will see it from the car before you turn into commercial center. A fer doors to the right of Cue Club is a Thai resteraunt Lotus of Siam. Here is their site so its a map to the Cue Club too, its GREAT food and not expensive. http://www.saipinchutima.com/

2. Mickeys cues and brews, has good equipment and has action in May, Sean owns it good guy treats players right. From the Riv/Circus just like above dont turn into Commercial Center Dr, just keep going straight for a couple more miles to Eastern Ave(its a big street) turn right (which is south) and go about 6 miles your getting close when the aipport is on your right-right where the planes touch down on the landing strip and a cemetary to your left(I'm not sure if there is any connection there:rolleyes:) Next major intersection is at Warm Springs road. There is a 7-11 on the left side of the street Mickeys is in that center but is hidden by a couple buildings, Turn left(dont go into 7-11 go 25 yards more and turn right into that center, Mickeys is on your left side. here is the google directions: http://maps.google.com/maps?rls=com...ult&ct=directions-to&resnum=1&ved=0CAkQngIwAA

3. leave the hotels just like the other 2 posts go north to Sahara Bl but turn right this time, in about a mile you'll cross a freeway and see Place Station Casino-Keep going straight for about 3 miles and when you get to Decatur Bl make a left turn(thats south and go about 2 or 3 miles) it will be on your left side) here is their site: http://www.poolsharks.net/

AGAIN NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU, THEY ARE LIEING PRINT THIS AND KEEP IT, YOU'LL SAVE A TON OF CAB FAIR, ALSO THERE IS NO ROAD CONSTRUCTION RIGHT NOW, SO IF THEY SUGGEST A DIFFERENT ROUTE THATS JUST A MOVE-DONT FALL FOR IT.

Have a good time in Vegas,

For us newbies, what route should I tell the cabbie from the Airport to the Riviera?

Fatboy, was hoping you would chime in on this thread

The cab driver should follow Swenson Street North till he reachs a "Y" with Swenson going to the right and Paradise Road turning to the left. Have the driver take Paradise. Once on Paradise, its a straight shot to the back of the Riv. If he tries to take you via the 215 / 15 expressways, you're getting screwed! Going back to the airport, take Swenson all the way to departing flights. Safest and least expensive!

I think your directions to Pool Sharks needs to be tweaked. You've got them going the wrong way. :p

Jay,

I'm with you. Whether you leave the Riv on LV Blvd or Paradise Road going North, it's a left on to Sahara going West. Once at Decatur Blvd, turn left (South). Pool Sharks is in a small retail plaza on your left just after you pass Spring Mountain Road. If you get to Twain Blvd, you've gone too far. If I remember correctly, the plaza is on the corner of Twain and Decatur.

Leave the Riv and go North to [Sahara] and turn left to go West, 2 miles, to Decatur. Turn left on Decatur to go South and pass Spring Mountain one block - see below.

Pool Sharks
3650 S Decatur Blvd
Las Vegas NV 89103
702-222-1011
One block south of Spring Mtn
on the corner of Decatur and Twain
2 miles west of Treasure Island

You mean go north to Sahara not Riviera and turn left not right like Fatboy said. Have fun everyone.
There is a bus to take from the airport to the Riv.

Do they still have a shuttle that the Cue Club runs back and forth to the Riviera?

$15-$20 is about right, taking the freeway is the long way, the road right behind the Sahara and Riv is Paradise take it north to either hotel and south to go back to the Airport, sometimes the freeway is faster because of traffic but thats rare, thats a long haul. Paradise is the best route.

Watchez every car I have here has a dead battery, the only one that runs in in LA, I might drive it back. I'm in Vegas now I'm going to N.Ca today or tomarrow then LA then back to Vegas. If my back is good I'll drive it back.

ur correct for going to the hotels, comming home its a straight shot south.

they all try the 215/15 Long haul, I despise cab drivers, I punched one in Germany a couple years ago for taking me the long way. I do everything I can to knock their action.

Hey Fatboy, want to pick me up from the airport? Just kidding, what's the best route from the airport to the Riv just so I can tell the cab driver so they don't try to pull one over on me.

Read post #9 in this thread, thats dead nuts accurate.

enjoy your time in Vegas, it seems hotter this year earily than last year. The last couple summers havent been too bad-but I stay out of town much as possible during the summer,

good luck-stay away from the casios, they have the "handle" so tight on every possible game you can get busted before you finish your first beer. They have the payouts so bad on table games you dont get any "Gamble" for your $$$. It's a shame what has happened here.

I believe #3 directions are flawed. If you are headed North on Las Vegas Blvd. to Sahara you will need to make a LEFT (heading West) on Sahara.

Really the best way to go is from the back side on the Riv. near the Convention center is to make a Right on Paradise then a Right on Desert Inn & a Left on Decatur for (Pool Sharks) IMO

Hey Murph,

I agree. That's the way I usually go but starting at the Cue Club instead. Much faster and less expensive for those taking a cab!

I'm playing with Greg, Jim, Ricky and Ted. Should be fun! Too bad about Benny. Jerry told me about him. See you next week. Hope you're feeling well.
