TCW - Tucker Cue Works

Murray hit the Expo floor a little after noon on Friday with two cues in hand. One was a wrapless cue and the other was this one. JA General Jimbo was Murray's designated seller, because he loves selling cues. (inside joke, because I don't think Jim has ever sold a cue)

Several people stopped me on the Expo floor all Friday afternoon asking if I had seen the cues and if they were for sale. When I said "yes, I believe they are for sale", at least 5 people told me they were buyers for the 4-pointer and asked could I find out how much. We all know how elusive Jimbo is, so it took a while for me to track him down and get the price. After I got that info, I couldn't find any of the people who wanted to buy.

I finally located one of the potential buyers and arranged with Jim and him to meet for the buy. The guy took longer than we expected and Jim needed to run an errrand. So he left the cue with me. I took it out of the bag and started to really look it over. It suddenly dawned on me that it was exactly the cue I had been looking for in all of the booths for the past two days. And, here I was meeting someone else who was going to buy the cue. DOHHHHH!!!!!! I decided then that if he passed on the cue, I was taking it.

Long story longer . . . . . the buyer passed and I immediately claimed squatter's rights on it. I talked to Murray later and we think the cocobolo in this cue came from the same board as the cue Murray made for me last year. They're bro's!!! It's like it was meant to be.

I've only got a few racks on it since, but it is one sweet player. Thanks again Murray and all of the potential buyers who disappeared ahead of me!

Some of these pictures show the cue better, hanging out with its brother that was born in 2010.

Thats a beautiful cue and a pretty cool story Scott. Must have been sweating it waiting to see if the guy was going to buy it. LOL.
I can just imagine your sales technique.... "I dropped it... is that a hairline crack in the abalone? Might have a taper roll.. who's Murray Tucker??"

Congrats!!

I was one that passed up the opportunity to buy this great cue and thought about it the entire time I was at the Expo.

Enjoy it, and congratulations.............TommyT:thumbup:

Very nice to see you again Scott.

No matter how many it was offered to either at the show or even weeks before :wink2:, it was destiny for you to have this cue.

Two incredible players made from the same board....

Congratulations,
Chris
