Thank you, Barry Hearn!

Except this is the premier event in pool. It is not just another tournament.

This forum of filled with Negative Nellies. It's hard to read sometimes. That's why some of us spent more time on Facebook these days. There's a lot of good reading about the Cup on Facebook. Here, on a pool-related forum, it is people trying to take down good industry people, some of whom are anonymous trolls and cantankerous people who have nothing better to do than hang out on AzBilliards and raise hell.

I'm pretty sure that when the Super Bowl comes around the football sites don't calm down and fill up with praise and admiration and "Thank you NFL" posts. They're complaining about cheating, about coaching, about the players, about the TV coverage, etc. etc. And it's a good thing because they're fans and the sport loves the fact that they're involved. I don't see why it shouldn't be the same for pool. I can see that it frustrates you, but I think you can see that it's just fans being fans, if you put it into perspective. Or not... :p

To compare pool to NFL is ridiculous, but go ahead and spew your so-called "words of wisdom" if it makes you feel better.

Put it into perspective JAM. If you look at other sports fan forums all they do is criticize the coaches and the refs and the players and the commentators. That's what people do when they're involved. It's a good thing, even if it's hard to see that. It would be a little ridiculous if all people did was talk admiringly about everyone and everything in pool.

Just as it's equally ridiculous for people to look constantly for the negative. Look, I understand if we want to make the "game" better but I rarely see recommendations for doing so on here. Just my opinion, of course, your mileage may vary.

Don't curse the darkness, people, light a candle.

Yup, I agree.

Mosconi Cup is the creme de la creme in the pool world. Through thick and thin, Mr. Hearn has continued to produce one of the best sporting events I've ever witnessed. This year's Mosconi Cup exceeded my expectations.

The delivery, music, the commentary, the players' shirts, the audience, it was absolutely brilliant.

I couldn't watch all of it, due to work, but what I was able to watch was exciting and some of the best pool I've seen in a long time. The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, it was all there. Every single player on both teams gave it their all!

Congratulations to Team Europe, and congratulations to Team USA. Thank you, Matchroom Sport and Barry Hearn for making this happen. Bravo!

Tap Tap young lady, couldn't agree more

Since a very long time ago, I have optimism for our sport because of this event.

I thought it was superb!! Nothing short of phenomenal actually !!

Bring it on for the future, so many are waiting ...

Think

It is because of members like you that this forum is what it is. Keep on keeping on.

We can rip apart the whole industry, and then everybody will be happy.

I think he was sincere and just asking.

Barry and Mosconi Cup

A big thanks to MatchRoom, Barry Hearn, Luke Riches, JP, Vincent, all the commentators, Kenny, and the whole crew.

This event gets better and better. The excitement and drama is the best of any pool event!

Also thanks to both teams and their captains. And a big shout out to the fans.

They all are part of the magic this event creates.

To the complainers - constructive criticism is probably welcome, but just complaining probably isn't. Remember this proves pool can be entertaining. Don't ruin the best event there is by making long races and eliminating the slop, or the golden break. This for TV. Embrace it for what it is. And please enjoy.

I create a thread of gratitude and that's the only thing you can come up with.

Yes, I stand corrected. It is Steve Davis.

I'm going to work. This place sucks for pool.

Wow, now that escalated quick. Guy ask who's the other guy in the pic and get stoned. I do agree with one thing, this place does suck. Rough place when you either see things through my eyes, side with my opinion and better not have on of your own and now it's ask a simple question. Very surprised about that outburst for such a harmless question, unless there's a back story.

There *is* a back story not with this thread but with that member, who continues to float in and out of threads with flippant replies and sarcasm to many, not just me.

This thread was meant to be positive and happy. I just tire of the same AzB members, many of whom are unidentified and/or banned members posting, wreaking havoc on this so-called "pool-related forum."

As Mark Griffin so eloquently stated in his post, this is a time to celebrate pool, not rip apart every single detail of this event. It is okay to offer constructive criticism, of course.

If you want to know what's wrong with pool in America, it is the majority of American pool public who post on this forum, many of whom don't give a hill of flying beans about professional pool, yet feel qualified to tear into it at every juncture.

Barry Hearn, as far as I'm concerned, is one pool's best friends, not only here in the States, but around the world. I was hoping this thread would generate some positivity, but as you can read, there are those who can't see the forest for the trees.

Go to Facebook and it's a completely different environment in pool, thank goodness. People are happy. They interact in a positive manner. There's not much of what you see happens here on this forum on FB between pool peeps. Many, many, many pros from around the world post on FB, and I love reading their trip reports and seeing their photographs. You can't find pros posting here very often because of the negativity.

While I'm at it, I want to give a big shout-out and high-five to Doug Gordon who has been tirelessly working behind the scenes to help pool thrive around the world, especially here in Amercia.

Hear, hear! You do know what time of day it is in the pool world.

Whoa, you've derailed your own thread. If all you are looking for is negatively you won't be disappointed because that's all you'll see.

If you have a history with certain posters why not ignore them?. It would save you and your threads the trouble.

Thanks Jam for this thread. The Mosconi Cup is every bit as exciting as the Ryder Cup in golf. Oh how I wish it was more widely seen on television in the USA. Some day! I can dream can't I. There is a reason that it's shown live in countries all over the planet. This is just good television on so many levels; great skill by some of the game's best players, terrific television coverage, a supercharged audience, plus so many emotional moments and an intimate look at what pool on the highest level is all about. Great stuff all around!

Understood and totally agree. This forum being the "source of pool" due to some members have really done a number on pool, I've mentioned it myself but being a new jack and not part of "the click" then you just get beat down. A bunch of grown adult bullying people, you'd think this was a high school.
