The 2007 DCC "St. Louis" Louis Roberts Action and Entertainment Award Voting

Who are you all referring to as scooter goodman??? The scooter I know is Justin Whitehead.

I agree, Chris was in action all the time, he is willing to gamble, does't have to have the nuts, lil john came late, did not see him but a couple of days, but heard he was in a lot of action, my votes for Chris.

You hit the nail on the head!!! Most people don't have a clue as to your refence of shady!!! Think about it! If you talk more than three diifferent people to stake three differnent games and lose all three !!??? He is entertaining and truly a SALESMAN to say the least but I wouldn't bet a nickel on any of his action!!!

My vote is for Lil JON ,
He has more nerve and cool under fire than any pool player I've ever meet in twenty years!!! He lackes true talent but has more heart and gamble than all the others. I think he is through his shady years and looks k=like he is doing well! He gets my vote

that little effer cost me $500 at last year DCC trying to "ENTERTAIN". I know where my money won't be ever again.
Scooter, kiss your jelly roll goodbye!!!!!!!!

Scooter definitly should win the award if it is for Action and Entertainment.

His action entertained the hell out of me. But then I knew better than to bet on him.

Is this "award" based on actual games played for cash or just alot of hot air being blown around....Lets see the list of cash games played, with whom they are played with and amounts of money involved.
Please read the first post. All of the information is on the post or the link to the Presentation.

I was initially going to vote for Bartram based on the amount of games that he matched up and then I realized something. I really didn't know how many games he was in because he really is not very entertaining at all to watch play. Honestly, I had money on the light in one of his matches and I couldn't bring myself to watch it.

Now when it comes to enterainment, I will have to give an edge to Scooter. He makes such a spectacle out of himself that you can't help but look. He is kind of like a train wreck, you want to turn your head but you just can't. His action is a bit speculative but he is rather funny.

I know this may be considered a bit of a homer pick but my pick for Action and Entertainment will be for Jon Hennessee. He was in action most of the week and made some good scores. Not to mention that every time he gets a game the rail lights up. People either love Jon or hate him, either way they watch to see how he does. While staying up and trolling for action most nights he still managed to compose himself well enough for a top 10 finish in the 9 ball division and respectable finishes in the bank and 1P.

He probably won't garner enough votes to win the award but I think he is certainly deserving. There was a lot of action that flew under the radar at DCC but I bet most everyone there knew about the sets Jon played and the results.

Just my .02, keep the change.

1. Dennis Orcullo. What has to be said how he played? Gave big spots and took the cash, every time, and impressively.

2. Darren Appleton. Probably the biggest action centered around him.

Honorable mention: Janette Lee. Who would of thought she could bank that good.

yeah i think it should be dennis orcullo to give last 3 and wild 8 and another guy breaking jason kirkwood and blow out chris bartrum for what 30 grand is crazy.i was down there this time for only a day and a half, and scooter can entertain alot more than he can shoot pool. i think the award should go to one who can at least shoot well. oh where was bucktooth if all it takes is alot of money gambling he can win every year by just showing up.

SMACKMAC for L.R.A.A.!!!

Look I know a lot of you all don’t know the guy’s name or know much about him but how about Harold "The Hitman" McAbee (goes by SmackMac on AZ, OnePocket.org and Southern Billiards) from Tuscaloosa, AL… all this guy did all week was gamble along with playing in all 3 tourneys… his “action” includes the following:

3000 playing edgar from TX one hole
3000 set playing Gary from SL 9 ball
1200 off of David Strong from oklahoma one pocket
4000 to Tater playing 8 ahead 9 ball
6000 to Tater playing 8 Ahead 9 ball (Well over 13000 on light and tons on the rail.)
500 playing Steve Pate
then another 1000 playing Steve Pate with rail bets and all
Monica 8 ahead for 500 with some rail action
500 from tim from ohio giving him 7 and last 2
another 500 from tim from ohio with same spot with a few hundred on the rail.
probably side bet on 20 or 30 matches (no telling how much total)
Staked Jeff abernathy in multiple action games for 500-1000.
Went up with several people playing.
All this was done with a total of 10 hours of sleep throughout 10 days dead sober except for a few Miller Lights ;-)

Anyway I’ve been to the derby the last 4 years running and have seen very few in action as much as Harold was in
This past week and he will definitely get my vote!!!

Hey Fred, why can't I just vote in this thread?? Sheesh, you act like the award is all about you or something. Give the guy a little bit of authority and he acts like his stuff don't stink anymore!

Timberly <--- just welcoming Fred to my world. :D

Merkyone, I would have to agree with you. Harold MacAbee would get my vote for all of the non-stop action he was in!

This just goes to show you how much really goes on at the Derby. I was there for the whole ride and I never even heard of this guy. That's sick. Sounds like the guy was definitly in the mix.

Are the entertainment and action split equally? Or is it 75 action and 25 entertainment?
It's split any way anyone wants. Some people are entertained strictly by the action. Others are entertained by the banter, and not necessarily the action.

It is all about me. But then again, I'm all about you. So, in the end...

It's All About Timberly!

Fred <~~~ and that's the way it is

Hey Merky, im wondering how you remember all of that. 1 I remember is when me and Roadman had over 8000 on the light and beat Scooter and Danny S. Scotch...I feel like we out run the nutz for sure then..
I have been sleeping for a couple of days now. Had a great time thats for sure! Looking foward to next year already. I know next year im either going to gamble full blast or concentrate on tournament, but not do both.

Smack

Hard choices here Gunny and I are split, Efren was either playing in the tourney or in action every time I saw him. Entertainment, action, I think I'm leaning toward him, you don't have to be a loud gambler to be huge.
