Action Pool Tour!!

I just wanted to write a few words.....

The first event was at Top Hat and in my opinion was a very well ran tournament, period.

Mr. Ozzy Reynolds was a true professional and runs the tour as if his life depended on it....that speaks for itself!! I believe there were 58 people total and it ran smoooooth as silk. So play in the next event and see for yourself.

If anyone gets a chance go to www.actionpooltour.com and check out the website, very nice also.

The next event will be even better I'm sure as I feel Ozzy is a person that strives for perfection. Great job Ozzy!!! Thanks again, Levi.

WOW! Thank you!

WOW! I'm not sure who you are but I realy appreciate the kind words. I have received a lot of positive feedback from the first event and just a couple negative comments. I am taking all of the comments very seriously. Both negative comments regarded the live stream. On the first day, the camera was inadvertently set on autofocus. That issue was corrected on the 2nd day. Secondly, people wanted to see the scores on the screen rather than following the live chat for updates. I am addressing that issue as well and I am almost 100% sure that we will have that capability before the July 9-10 tournament at Midlothian.

I just want all of the players to know that I take this very seriously, The Action Pool Tour is not going away, and with your help, we will get larger and larger as time passes. I can't wait to see you in Midlothian!

PS: Whoever you are, thank you again for the kind words. I will try to live up to them at every event.

tourny

This was a decent tourny. It could use some cleaning up though. It took a very long time and alot of the reason was that the director was playing in the tourny. If you are runing a tourny of that size, you should never play in it. There was many times he would have to ask his apponent to hold on while he went to fix the board, as well as other things and questions he would have to answer while he was playing. It is also not a good idea to accept a bye in the first round if you are runing it, whether it was a legit draw or not. All in all it was a good tourny. All i can say is that, if this is run like the way it was a top hat, I am not the only one that will not be attending the next one. Hopefully things get straightend out before the next one. Ozzy seems like a nice guy and he also seems to really care about the game and what people want in a tourny.

Thanks for the input

I appreciate your honest assessment. I made a decision to play in all my events for two reasons: (1) I love the game and (2) I believe that you have to actually be pool player to stay in touch with pool players. That might sound corny, but I truely believe that.

While I appreciate your thoughts, I respectfully disagree with a couple of points. You said that the event took too long. We had 58 players and we were able to play down to only 12 by about 12:30 Saturday night. That's pretty darn quick for a 10-ball, race to 8 format. On Sunday, the main tournament and the 2nd Chance tournaments were over by about 9:30pm. Again, not bad in my opinion.

You also said there were many times that I had to leave my opponent. You are correct in that there were a few times that I had to ask for a short break to watch a hit or fix a streaming problem. However, I don't believe this happened more than 3-4 times all weekend and no break took more than 2-3 minutes. I also did not leave during my opponents inning and I did not take bathroom breaks.

The draw was a computerized random draw witnessed by several others. I did not even realize I had a bye until my name was written into the bracket number generated by the computer. To change the draw would have meant re-drawing and re-writing the names in the brackets. This would have delayed the start of the tournament by about 30 minutes.

I am sorry that you feel the way you do. I hope that you understand my points and will come play with us again. Thanks again for your thoughts.

Ozzy, for what it is worth, everyone I have personally talked to, said you did a excelent job. You where very profrssional. Continue to play in your events. Its hard to beleve anyone would think you would travel up and down the east coast, run tournaments, stay gone from your family and not want to play. You arre a classy guy and you will have the best tour around. I will play in every event I can.

First Impressions are everything....

Day one...eyes are all on "Ozzy" the tourn director. 1st event, 58 people looking for a solid event, it happens! Hands down!! Top Hat was a wonderful poolroom (my 1st time personally). Can't wait for the next one.

Thanks again Ozz...Levi

Thanks

Thanks guys...I will try to continue to live up to the very nice things you have said about me. But the credit for the first event goes to you and the rest of the players. All 57 of you took a chance on an unknown entity and came out and played. Without you, there is no Action Pool Tour and I will not forget that. Thanks again for the encouraging words!

Ozz

The Mystery Man "Levi" is Rick Molineiro owner of Big Daddy's in Glen Burnie and 3rd place finisher in your first tournament in Parkville. Rick is a class act and owns a first class room...treats his customers very well. A real credit to pool!

Agreed

I agree completely. Last weekend was the first time that I met Rick and it was an absolute pleasure. I hope to have an event at his room, Big Daddy's in Glen Burnie MD, in the near future. If the room is any reflection of the owner, it must be first class! Rick, for what it's worth, thank you for everything.

I think that TDs should not play if they are running the event solo. There is too much to do and it is unfair to those involved, whether they tell the TD or not.

In fact, I have never played a $1k+ 1st place event that was run by a single person who also chose to participate in the event.

That said, your communications are top-notch and you have us believing that you are continually improving.

Agreed

I agree completely. There is absolutely no way I can play without help. Someone must always be there to keep the brackets current, keep the tables occupied, and keep the live streaming running. That is why I had not one but two people to hold down the fort during my matches.

Thank you for your confidence!

Yah Know What???

Ozz, keep playing in your Tournaments...Mike Zuglan directs and plays in the Joss Tour Events, as does Tony Robles in the Predator Events he directs, same with Bob Maidhof in the Mezz tour events and Charlie Williams in his events. I can say without hesitation that these four are total class acts and run some of the most successful events around. Having said that...play in all your events...Mike, Tony, Bob and Charlie do and I know they take heat for doing it!!!

Ozzzzzzy

Sorry, I missed your first event. I have back issues and it is hard for me to play. But I know and talk to alot of people. Everyone I talked to, said you ran a first class tournament and expect better turnouts for your events. Many people are impressed with a whole lot of aspects in your tour. You love the game of pool. Almost every tour director I have ever seen plays in there events. Its hard to make everyone happy, but you do a great job, treating everyone with respect. I will see you In Salisbury, for that event. I will be there even If my back wont let me play.

Thank you!

Wedge, thank you for the encouragement. I am going to absolutely follow your advice.

Danny, thank you for the kind remarks. I wish you a speedy recovery. Thank goodness, I have never had back problems but I hear they are extremely painful. Even if you can't play in Midlothian on July 9-10, it would be great if you could just come and hang out with us for a fun weekend of catching up. At a minimum, you could participate in the calcutta. If not, I completely understand and I look forward to seeing you whenever that may be. Take care of that back.

Nice! Good to hear.

Again, the communication is top-shelf, Mon!

Wow, seriously? Go play in any other regional tournament and you will be begging for more APT events.
