The AZ Room @ The Derby City Classic

Hey Tom, this could work. All they would have to do would be to sign up on the playing list in consecutive order, and it would work within the overall scheme of things (sort of). If they design it with this principle in mind they could probably "git 'r done." But if they do, it should be within the parameters set for play on the table (might take them a little longer to accomplish, but could still be done).

Hello out there... I'm scheduled to be there on Wednesday... I'll bring some cash for the kitty... maybe WillieBetMore could PM me about the setup & any schedule... CB

Ratchet,
I'll probably be there later in the afternoon; I could DEFINITELY use some help in putting up the banners - hopefully by 4 P.M. or so. I just don't know when I'll be done with work in the AM.

Hopefully I'll see you there.

Tom, Don't hold me to this, but when I made my reservations a couple of weeks ago, I was told it was available in the rooms now. This will be the first year for it so I'm not holding my breath!

I got a reprieve this AM, and found out that my request for a certain room would be honored. I've gotten the same suite every year of the tourney except one when it had been previously rented for the entire month. It has a special sentimental thing with us. I have a bunch of pictures and even more memories of the trips with my old road partner Gary Spaeth staying in that room. Long live the Derby City Classic, which in my opinion is the greatest pool extravaganza of all times, and it grows larger and better each year!

My hat's off to Greg Sullivan and all the fine folks at Diamond for making this what it is!

God Bless! See ya all in Louisville, ( at least the lucky ones!)

just more hot air!

Sherm

just to clear this up, it fer sure works in the rooms. I'm using it now!

By the way, do we have the room for any amount of time on Sunday? My flight is in the middle of the afternoon on Sunday, so I'll still be around for a bit I suppose.

Does anything happen at the DCC after the final matches on Saturday? Do the pros hang around and match up much afterwards?

I almost had a head on collision with Strickland and I was just watching Hopkins shoot around in a cue & casemakers booth the, room looks great I played a few with a couple fellows there ....I am looking forward to meeting you all

Oh the wifi works well ,the pwd is internet ............

Ratchet - schmoozin with the stars lololol:)

Internet works in the AZ room? ...or just the regular sleeping rooms?

Take a picture Ratchet! :p

I know it works in the sleeping rooms I will try it from the Az room in 10 mins

The room is getting a few players now ,I got them to give us a set of keys ,I gave 1 set to Randi Matthews and cant wait for someone to show up to give the others to I have been watching the room off and on since 4:a.m.I ran into Pelinga and Rossman and eavesdropped a bit while they discussed who is doing what show and when ,I oughta start getting their autographs to prove it lolol

I am taking a back pain break TTY'ALLL8R

Ratchet - scoop finder

I need to start familiarizing myself with all the pictures of the pros. I'd hate to have Efren ask me to play and have myself turn him down! :p (okay, I know what Efren looks like, but no idea what many of the other players look like)

Worth the trip

My flight leaves tomorrow at 6:30am. This is my first trip to DCC and I can't wait.

My first trip here also and I can tell you it's worth every penny . I have been to other major tourneys when the pros are playing for big titles but they have always kind of been segregated from their fans but here they are right here in your face ,,,Bring an autograph book or plenty of paper and a permanent marker
Grady Matthews has been in and out between matches and has converted his
training films to DVD , His wife Randi says due to the technology at the time the graphics are not that great BUT his lessons are crystal clear to the watchful student ,price $30.00

Williebetmore and OHB are here but WBM is not spending the night there has been nonstop pool action in the AZB /One Pocket room with Banks being the most played today ,sprinkled with some 8 & 9 ball and 1p ! I have not seen any 14.1 yet but I can assure you it will be played . We have posted a signup/waiting for the table list but not used it quite yet but probably will B4
the night is over, The Room is spacious with an open table ,we do have an overflow room next door but sadly it is a pay table but that one was required
by the hotel the scuttlebutt says , Greg Sullivan is really pumped up about us having our room and stands behind us and has nothing but best wishes that we make this work he has done everything we could ask for and couldn't be a better host ,From what I can see so far the forecast looks very promising

Oh and tomorrow nite is free pizza nite get here asap LOL

AZ/OP room is great!

I just met williebetmore and he already has the posters up. They really look nice. Table & lighting is excellent. Showed the room to Buddy & he says he might use is to do some practicing if it is available. The room is nice, cool & quiet. Very good place to relax & BS

Later, OHB

Damn I'm looking forward to this!

I sure hope lousy players (like me) are gonna be allowed to play on that AZ table.....

Classy Guy !

So far I have been more or less thrust into service and enjoying every minute of it in the AZ room ,Believe it or not I kind of shared dinner with Stefano Pelinga he was sitting alone at the table across from me in the buffet room. I asked him if he was Stefano and he said yes, I then congratulated him on his recent win at the 2005 trick shot championship and asked him if I was bothering him to which he quickly said no and paid his check and what happened next was great ... He came back to my table and we chatted for a good 8 or 9 minutes about Italy ,I told him of my being ported in Laspezia,Taranto and Genoa ,He said he lives in Roma and we actually chatted about pools bad rap and other stuff he asked me about my game lol I told him where I stood as of now and he tossed me some encouragement which I felt to be sincere ..All in all I found him to be quite a nice guy and a warm individual about the sport

I tossed him an invite to the AZ room and he accepted , He said he would be dropping in

Your on the scene sucking up to the stars guy .....

Ratchet --- Starstruck and getting a buzz off of it lolol

You can take that to the bank

I can assure you everthing that Stefano says is genuine, he is no coward of the truth. He might sometimes even go too far with the truth and this is a very good quality in a person. He is a great friend to pool and even most of his trick shot shooting peers as well. So you can feel at ease when he tells you something have no doubt in him being sincere Ratchet.
