Hal, if you do infact win the case, I'll be happy to facilitate the delivery of said case for you... ;)

1pRoscoe,
I guess I didn't consider all the options (since I'm the one that volunteered to ship the case to the winner if necessary). Instead of UPS, I should have thought of URS (United Roscoe Service).

Precisely!

Although UPS does guarantee the time of their delivery, URS does not. I will committ to getting said package to the recipient within the next few years.......err, weeks. :D

Note: There is no insurance option through URS delivery services, what you get is what you get - regardless of condition.

1 Pocket forum names

I propose (half seriously) that all of us azbilliards and onepocket.org forum members like myself, that have 1 Pocket forum names, like for instance, members: 1Pocket, 1PocketFanatic, 1PRoscoe, onepocketchump, etc. have our own personal 1 Pocket mini round robin tournament amongst ourselves at the DCC, to determine the 2006 One Pocket champion of the forum 1Pocket names ! ^_^

I second the motion.

All in favor......

Sounds good to me...... BUT......

I doubt if time will allow it to be held in the AZ/OP room. It sounds like it will be pretty busy in there already. Especially for a round robin. I guess we could do it anywhere we decide at night or whenever the tourney isn't going on. As long as someone wants to organize it.

Thanks, Tom

Hey Tom, this could work. All they would have to do would be to sign up on the playing list in consecutive order, and it would work within the overall scheme of things (sort of). If they design it with this principle in mind they could probably "git 'r done." But if they do, it should be within the parameters set for play on the table (might take them a little longer to accomplish, but could still be done).

Great idea...as long as there's time count me in!

uhh...

No offense to the rest of you guys, but I think my post was slightly misinterpreted....my half-jokingly one pocket challenge was just to the members whose forum names were somehow configured with the words/numbers 1pocket or onepocket - cuz I figgered that they are the one pocket fanatics like myself.

ps, that said, I would most definitely like to meet any diehard one pocket fanatics/players that are going to be in our az/op.org-room at the DCC - I'll be there from sat. thru wed.

Ghost,
I heard you. There are 4 or 5 one-pocket names on the list; that's why I said you guys could just sign up sequentially on the table and in short order determine who REALLY deserves to have the "onepocket" in their screen name.

Willie, The way you stay on top of everything, your real-life job must be as a flight control tower guy at the airport !

Darn! Is it too late to change my name to 1PSamiel? lol... :p

Are there other tables in or around the hotel that we could hold minis on?

Where do people who don't compete play around there if they want to play pool?

I'll organize it.
1pRoscoe you lose!
Everyone else wins.
Tournament over.

One Pocket Forum Tourney

I do not play one pocket. I think the idea has merit for those that do but would prefer not to dedicate table time for such a tourney unless, it can be made to take place when there is the least demand on the table. I believe with planned challenge events, pro demo's and clinics, etc. we have a lot going on during the prime time hours. Perhaps the one pocket guys who wish to establish their best player would consider doing so from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM?

I'm a little curious as to why there is interest in spending so much time in the room. I'd like to attend the clinics, exhibitions, and play a few games, but anyone who has attended the Derby before should be there to witness great pool and sweat matches ranging from $1,000 up to $40,000 in every discipline between the world's best players.

It's gonna be great to meet everyone and relax a little in the AZ room. But most of my time will be spent in the tournament room, the chapel, and upstairs sweating pool; not socializing.

Fair Question

Mike:

You make a good point. I for the most part agree with you. I would simply like to play a few games in the AZ room also. I will only be there for a few days (playing banks).

Good luck in your matches and your "Rail Bird" action.

Hey Larry, Chill out man - we would not bogart the table - and the proposal was half in jest anyway. Ghost

PS, I might even play you some banks ^_^

Samiel, For you and any others without 1pocket in their screen names who want to enter our mini-1pocket tournament, I will make up a form that you would have to sign...
...on this form you will have to swear that at least 95% of your pool playing for the past year was playing 1pocket and 5% or less was spent playing the other (inferior) pool games - if you can answer yes to this question (preferably truthfully), then we will consider you for special entry............Ghost ^_^

Actually, I do play almost 95% one pocket... at least on Sundays. I also win 95% of the time against my opponent, so I've gotten 0% better lately. My opponent won't let me spot him... so how do you tell a friend that you need to spot him in order to get a little better? I've just been taking to doing crazy and wild shots to make the game more interesting... but of course I shouldn't be doing some of these things if I were playing for jelly beans...
