What was the best shot you have ever made while playing against someone? If you have more than one you would like to share feel free to share.

the best shot...

Well back when I played for money still, I happened to see some friends at a country bar in the inland empire of california. They knew how I played and had been losing to some guys all night on the bar box there. They asked me to play the guy and when he missed the first timeI was hooked behind one of his balls playing eight ball and the only ball I had a chance at was sitting against the rail on the head rail. I called it into the far corner and proceeded to jack up and do a full table masse and cut it right into the corner and then ran out. The guy was like, you didn't mean to do that. I said I called it didn't I. Truth be told, even though I was trying for the shot, I was really just hoping to hit the ball and was as surprised as everyone else that it went in.

I don't know if it was the best shot I've ever made, but the result was good. In a game of 9 ball, I was on the three at one end of the table and the 9 was about 6 inches from the corner pocket on the other end of the table. I had a small angle on the three, cut it in with a stun shot and the cue ball slid nicely the length of the table, struck the 9 and it dropped. The guy I was playing said "you can't see the 4 now". I said "I made the stripe...It's over. He looked positively shocked. IT was great.

I'll post my shot if I can get the wei 2 work okay I was at the viking nationals in atl 2 yrs ago.Troy frank was practicing next to me and I had asked If I could get next game.He was beating up on someone. The shot came up in a game that I was playing with a friend I asked him to gamble but he wanted some crazy weight..When this shot came up I said to my friend that I need a jump cue,and by the grace of god a red head gave me one.I jumped the eight and cut the 4 into the side (where I called the shot) and ran the rank) When It was my turn to play troy he commented on that shot.

I saw Scotty Townsend shoot a shot in a tourney once and thought it was the coolest shot I had ever seen. A couple of years later I was in an almost identical situation as he was and decided to try it. I was playing 8 ball and had no really open pocket for the 8. There was a ball about 2 1/2 feet in front of the 8. I elevated my cue and shot down on the cueball causing it to jump and hit the 8 while it was on an incline. This caused the 8 to get the same effect and the 8 jumped over the object ball and into the corner pocket that I called. It was really cool. The shot really isnt that difficult, but controlling the cueball and keeping it on the table is a little tricky. My opponent didnt say a word just stood there with his mouth open....:D

This was my best shot. Playing last pocket 8-ball, my opponent has left their last ball seeming blocking my pocket for the 8. I just smiled at him, called the 8 cleanly in my hole, and banked the 8 five rails, right past his 11-ball, into my pocket, for the win. Best part was that this was done in front of a couple hundred people, and captured on videotape, at the University of Illinois gameroom, in 1995! :D

Best shot of mine was a jump shot, where I could see the OB straight in. I was gambling, $60 a rack at Last Pocket Eight Ball, and shooting my more knowledgable (or so he thought) opponent's nuts off.

He started soft breaking on me, and left me this layout where only two balls were off the stack, and only one that I could see. I had only the TINIEST angle. I jumped the CB onto the top of the OB, and landed the CB dead smack in the middle of the stack, and ran out from here. I nudged here..Nudged there.. And got out from nowhere.

Needless to say, this was the straw that broke the camel's back, and he quit me after this game. :D :D :D

Here's a shot that came up in an 8 ball game,I was on a run out and THe 7 ball just fits between the stripes,I bank the seven with High inside (2:30 ish) drop the seven and land 2 rail shape on the last soild. My opponent who was standing in front out the pocket just dropped his cue and shook his head.I got out from there and would like to show my respect to freddy...I love to play bank pool and and unbeaten on my home turff..:D

I had a similar situation like you, playing ten ball I'm on 2 and my opponent is on 2 my shot, object ball is encased by balls and the rail has it's back,I have bih,I jump the rock and It lands on the object ball and puts him on 2 me on zero ..he lost that game.

I was playing 8 ball against a friend for some small money and ran out really nicely besides getting hooked. We were playing his rules where you have to hit the 8,i was in a bind here, but i did the 5 railer on slow cloth, the cue ball just made the 8 ball in the pocket, one of the best shots i have ever made.I have made this on a bar table playing bank the 8 but this was tougher since the table was slow.

I dont have a single shot that stands out in my mind, but the most rewarding game for me was to break and run at a team tournament a few years ago, in the final game trailing by 9, for a 10 zip win. Winner was in the money, loser went home empty handed.

There was nothing fancy about it, but it felt real good.

those are the best ones?:D

I made this shot freshman year in college, would be 1991 or so. It's a bit similar to the Hustler shot Eddie makes, but this one I think is harder. I think it is probably one of the few shots I will remember forever. I called the shot, it dropped, people around the table went nuts and I became "The Man" to beat in that rec room from then on :D

I know layouts can be deceiving on the Wei table, but what was wrong with the cross side bank?

11 was blocking.. I just remember that I had no obvious open pockets. Plus this was before I knew much of safety or banking using spin and speed to control the angle. I don't seem to have much accuracy diagraming things it seems hehe.. my Name That Shot things came up a bit short as well.

I don't think I ever made another one, or even tried one like this again. Other hard shots were more super accurate position placement than anything else but this is the one shot that stands out for me.
