With all the nickname discussions, I thought I could make one thread for all to use. Feel free to post additions and I will update the main list as I have with the "Best Player in State" thread.

I have been Mike "Baby Face" Gulyassy for 38 years. If I play in any pro event I am called this name. Being the reigning Back Pocket Champion of the World I think I desearve my given name. Why do yo think I called my business Babys Pro Shop?

I don't think anyone on this board is contesting your name or your right to use it, or hunting you down to play back pocket 8-ball for that matter :wink:

I in no intent meant to infringe on your list. With your permission, I would like to continue this thread in hopes of acquiring additional nicknames which could be added to your list. Once listing became complete, you could update your list and we could ask the mods to delete the thread and forevermore reference your efforts as "The Definitive List of Nicknames of Pool Players" lol

Mine is heavier on oldtime players than what you might come up with here. However I am a little protective of the hard work I put into my list, and sure don't like the idea of copying it in whole or in part here. Thanks for understanding!

Richard Cook = Bucktooth
Billy Burge = Cornbread Red

For Varner, you mean the Kentucky Colonel? There are some players who get "nicknames" that don't really stick (i.e. get used regularly). I might have put that one in that category since most everyone simply refers to him as Varner :)

Tell me more about Schultz -- I don't know that name...

Glad you caught it first Mike...

Mika is NOT the ICE MAN, that would/will always be Larry Hubbard. He needs his own nickname, not a recycled one!
