" The Freezer's " new EPIC poolroom!!!!!

Oh yeah - it's called Freezer's Ice House

I'm no business expert but if i knew nothing about pool or mr.frost this name would just make me believe that it's a refrigerator or ice store.

If the area isn't saturated with real pool knowledgeable people i would be worried about attracting people with a name that doesn't somehow imply what you're actually offering.

I agree. Maybe 10% know who Scott Frost is and 2% know his nickname is the freezer. Big mistake right off the bat. Johnnyt

Hope this pool hall comes about. It would be a great addition to the Phoenix area pool scene...especially the east side. This would give we players 5 solid choices to play..."Main Street" in Mesa, "Skip & Jans" in Gilbert, "BullShooters in Peoria, "Kolbys" and the "Ice House" in Tempe.

Best of Luck with the financing and licenses.

I used to live about 2 miles from this new room will be. Looking forward to visiting the next time I'm back in Arizona visiting family. Best of luck with this new venture.

You have a point, but I think it's manageable. If it's called the "Ice House" have a good bourbon menu and serve it with artisan steel cut ice - the big block ice cubes. People eat that up. $11 Woodford double oak etc...High profit margin.

Oh yeah, then have some pool tables too. ;)

I personally look forward to seeing it come to fruition.

........ and .... anyone who has been to the valley between May and November
would know that we all want to go to the 'ice house' every day.

Actually Ice house is a beer and collage kids drink way more beer than anything else so I'd be looking to them for some taps ,lights and signs

Sad to hear Kolbys shut down too. I have played some great matches there. Looking forward to the new place and hope there won't be any hold ups (liquer licensing and such). Like I said earlier to, it's nice to see him invest in something that could pay him back with alot of effort.

Good luck to Scott, Lenny and everyone else involved.

It didn't shut down. Kolbys is still alive and doing well. Just new owners and they are super good people. I still go there and play, its a great place too.

Just curious Lenny..Did Jimmy L. or his brother, give you any reason for intentionally leaving you and Scott out of the loop? Sure has changed my opinion of them :frown:

I just think it came down to money and whatnot. I don't fault them for selling its just things surrounding the whole thing that was upsetting but either way it opens the door to bigger and better things. I try and keep positive even when things are not so, best way you can live I guess. Hope you are well bud and if not put me in your will leaving me a bottle of YJ. :grin-square:

Is Scott still involved?
The place rebooted a few years ago into Mills Modern Social. They still have table but less. I think business is booming on the reboot from what I recall Lenny posted a few years ago (before C). I don't think any of the pool players owners/managers are still involved. This is all 3rd hand info I read on here a while back, so don't take it as gospel:)

I was there a year or two ago during the daytime. They had a pretty good lunch/pool combo but only about five customers. There were lots of tables. I believe that the original owner died.

The money behind it was Jason Chance and his brother Greg. Jason was in the oil business and Scott knew him for yrs. Freezers wasn't doing what they'd hoped for and covid was when they re-branded/re-modeled. Jason did pass away in 2021.
