A couple of random thoughts...
Boxers:
Do I like to see 8 inches of boxer shorts sticking out above jeans? No. Should it be prohibited? HELL NO!!! I don't even think it's worth taking offense to. For a minute, think about it this way: What is underwear? It's just another layer of clothing. How do you know there's not a pair of tighty-whities (briefs) underneath those boxers? What if the guy didn't have those pants on at all? You'd simply be looking at a pair of plaid shorts. Now he puts pants on over that and suddenly he's violating you? He's wearing MORE clothes! LOL.
Music:
I like hip hop, some of it, but not all. In general, I like music for the beats and the "tunes", instrumentals, etc., and the lyrics, for me, are generally just sorta there. If the lyrics are good, bonus. Sometimes lyrics are outstandingly awesome and moving. If the lyrics are really horrible for whatever reason, that COULD ruin the song for me.
Now, that said, hip hop for me is no different. The stuff I like, I generally like for the beats, musical content, etc. If the lyrics are excessively violent or nasty or whatever, I'll most likely lose interest, or at least lose a little respect for that song. But not all hip hop is like that, and some songs/artists send a very positive message.
Actually, other genres of music may have songs here and there with violent lyrics, although some of these tend to be either written in the third person or written for the singer to be "in character".
I'm not trying to convince anyone to like something they don't like; I guess I'm just saying that things aren't always so black and white. Just take this post for whatever it's worth.
