I hate the APA

I hate Vegas

The tables are bad

Valley tables suck

There are too many sandbaggers

The same team always wins

The same team always goes to Vegas

They allow smoking

They don't allow smoking

There are beer drinkers

They don't serve beer

We play too late

There are too many fat girls

There are too many skinny girls

The girl with the big tits never racks at my table

They are all bar bangers

I like the BCA better

I like TAP better

The 23 rule is bad... we can't load our team

What is this ball in hand crap

APA 9 ball sucks

I lost to a lower skill level because if the handicap system

The handicap system system sucks

I run up the innings in my matches so my skill level doesn't go up

They raised our 2 to a 3 in the city cup tournament

that old lady beat me .... she is not really a 3

You may be on to something here, but I may need pictures of examples to add input to the discussion....

PS...While I wish the tables are better for a big event like this, the tables are the same for both opponents and if you don't like the league/system than don't play or learn to improve your game to be more prepared!
 
The APA is trash where I live. Pay over twenty dollars a year for your membership. Seven dollars a night whether you win or lose. If you're a 9-5 or get off even later, you won't ever get to practice before your match because there are no practice tables. If you're lucky, there might be one. Then you sit on a 40-person wait list to play at the practice table and by then, it's already your turn to play, or the night is over. Then you either get to listen to, or deal with, the drunken idiots either opposing your team, or somewhere else in the bar. Spend four-five hours at a bar on a weekday night to watch slow, amateur play and maybe play a few games with a handicap.

This is just the tip of the iceberg. If that's your cup of tea, lol. I don't see any remarkable benefits other than the socializing factor. Wait, JEANETTE LEE IS COMING TO TOWN!? NO WAY!

I pay $25 for membership and $9 a night,,,,, whether you win or lose... LOL

The rest is not the APA's fault............ that's the room where you play. Split the league up over different nights or different pool halls. There is a method to report the unruly people or unsporty people to the LO. Or send an email to the APA president. She will answer.

If you put up with that situation....... part of it becomes your fault.

Believe it or not, there's a difference between whining and criticizing. Although I bet you'll argue with that!

so never played apa before but how do you win in vegas? if you play good they break your team up..... so you have to some how win without playing good? maybe im the dumb one but something about that idea just seems to not make any sense at all.


around here they raise ratings pretty much based on one run out, if your a 4 and there are 6 balls hanging in the pockets youll be a 6 by the end of the game.

good thing the 7s and 9s in apa are still B players in the bca leagues in this area lol says a lot about the league in general

Funny, the LO plays there on those nights. He's a really passive person who is too nice to do anything (other than making sure he's collected your money). One guy has repeatedly been in fights (witnessed) and has been verbally aggressive towards several people. Still playing.

This is only one establishment. I've tried the APA with different games and even their travel league--similar bullshit just about anywhere you go.

I don't put up with the situation, I just quit giving my money to something that doesn't make any sense. If you're serious about pool, don't spend your time in the APA. Use the money towards your own practice (25 cents a game by yourself, or $9 for a few games-the math here is so stupid, I won't even elaborate), gamble with other players, play better players (not ones weaker than you), participate in tournaments, get an instructor, etc.--you'll get much more out of it.

You know what the A and Masters are? They're also 7s and 9s. If you're still in the PNW, there are plenty of non-7/9 players that have been rated as local/regional A players. I've known a player or two that weren't 9s until they were moved up to Master. There are a lot of variables in those equations. If it helps your argument, I'm a 7/9 and a B.
 
Remember on az billiards you can never say anything bad about a league or cue maker or your either a winer or full of shit. I don't care if either one shits on your head and asks if you like your new hat you have to smile and say how great it is or you'll be ran off the board! God forbid anyone have an opinion :rolleyes:
