"The Hustler" is on AMC

An hour and 15 more minutes for me, I'm from the West Coast. Thnx for the heads up! ;)

That is such a classic. Like The Godfather, every time I watch The Hustler, I see something different that I had not seen before. GREAT MOVIE, even after all these years! :)

BTW, Paul Newman is ill in recent times and is undergoing treatments. He has removed himself from public appearances. The 83-year-old is reported to be seeing an oncologist and for the first time did not appear at his beloved charity's event, the Hole in the Wall Gang commemorating the 20th anniversary. The Hole in the Wall Gang is a residential summer camp for seriously ill children that Newman co-founded in 1988. This is the first time he has missed it. He did greet the party-goers with a pre-recorded video message, though.

Paul Newman called it quits in May of 2007 as far as movies, and here is a thread we all contributed to on this forum when it happened. It's a pretty good read: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=63936&highlight=Newman

Another Heads up!

The Color of Money is on this Sunday at 8:00pm on ESPN Classic. I wish I had known about the Hustler being on a couple of hours ago, I would have recorded them both and had my own Hustler marathon sometime next week. Both are great movies.

LOL!! When we bought our first VCR, The Hustler was the first VHS movie we bought. I have the first DVD and will be showing a clip and commenting on it in my Interpersonal Communications class next Thursday night.
I'm thinking of picking up the new DVD, maybe today, as a matter of fact.

love that movie.... wish I were home to watch. Good thing I have it on dvd.

Right on

Thanks Easy! I would have missed it if you hadn't posted. Which reminds me to go out and buy the dvd. Thanks again for posting.

I rufuse to watch AMC anymore. There is more advertising than anyother station and they also edit everything. It use to be a great station when it was commerical free. AMC now sucks.

Plus I have seen the movie many times.

Get the DVD, it's well worth it...in the extras Mike Massey gives commentary on the shots too. That movie should not be interrupted with commercials!!!
