The Kid Delicious book is off the hook

Fedor's a great fighter, but nobody is as exciting to watch as Anderson Silva. I must say, I'm STILL cringing from the beating he delivered to Rich Franklin. Every time his knee buried in Rich's face in slow-motion, my dog started to howl.

If anyone is a Rich Franklin fan and thinks he's gonna beat Anderson, the even-money betting window is open.

Silva is definitely an exciting fighter to watch. It's unfortunate that he is in such a weak division. I'd like to see Dan Henderson move back down to 185 and challenge Silva. I read that he wants to stay at 205 though. 185 looks like it would better suit him. I also do not like Franklins chances much at all. Silva isn't invincible though... He was the victim of one of the sickest submissions ever in the form of a flying scissor heel hook by Ryo Chonan.

Joe, what'd you think of Hamill/Bisping?

I dig this picture of Matt.

I tell you what I thought; Matt kicked the crap out of him from bell to bell. I can't believe that the decision went the other way.

I felt like I was watching another fixed boxing match.

I am a RF fan, that guy is a bad mofo. I believe that eveyone is going to have to beware of "The Truth", He should be setup for a title shot after he takes out Tim S.

To keep this somewhat pool related; Where did you find the book?

You can find it on Amazon.

This is Vera's first big test. Sure he has looked impressive but who has he fought that was a true test? Nobody I can think of. Let him fight some of the top 10 heavyweights and see how truthful he really is.

Hamill

It looked to me like Hamill came into Bisbing's house and fought him at his own game, standup. Hamill owned him. Even when he took Bisbing down, he just let him back up knowing full well he could destroy him on the ground. It was pretty sad, but like they always say, don't let it go to the judges.

Frank Mir is the only top fighter on that list and he hasn't been the same since he got into his accident.

Just bought one at Amazon. Thanks for the short review, I must have been under a rock or something to have not known this book was coming out and had it already. I love these type of books and I figure this book will be very good, especially since Kid D is a maniac in real life. I heard this one story of him, where he was in St Louis, and the railbirds liquored and drugged him all up (with his more than willing consent I might add). When they finally had him what they thought was fully jarred and on max tilt, then they got him to the pool table in an ahead session. It was over in less than an hr and he never missed a ball.

Tim is on a comeback, he might be hungry again (that is scary), but Vera is just one of those fighters that has IT.

This guy Assuerio Silva is not push over either. But if you are confident in Tim, I will take Brandon for 20$.

this is the same Joe Rogan that hosted (or still does, not sure if its still going) the Fear Factor show???

how long have you been playing???

oh yea, and Fatboy, you own a boxing radio show??? i wonder if i can hear it somehow... im a HUGE boxing fan.

I am not saying Brandon isn't a great fighter. I'm just saying this is his first real test fighting a top ten heavyweight. After the mauling that Randy put on Tim... you want me to take Tim's side? I'll pass this time.

Joe

Any thoughts on the WEC card on December 12? I think that Curran will be Urijah's toughest test, and it should be one hell of a Jiu Jitsu clinic!

No kidding, I spaced that off when posting a reply about UFC. I am heading out on lunch to see if I can snag a copy of the book though.

The book is a great read for young and old. Johnnyt

Is this the book?

Running the Table: The Legend of Kid Delicious, the Last Great American Pool Hustler

The pic on the cover looks more like the arm of a body builder, not a fat guys.

Yes that's Danny's book. Johnnyt

Kid Delicious is a necessity

If we could only manage to get more players with personality like his we might not be wondering why the tour guys are making 1/20th on their feet as the poker players do on their ass. The kid is an example of the sort of necessity we need to bring pool back off of its knees

I hate to make the guy talk about the UFC on a pool forum. However, I was trying to decide if I thought Hamill won 30/27 or 29/28, not whether or not he won. What a ridiculous decision that was.

I have nothing against Bisping, and have a lot of respect for him. He had to know that he lost that fight though, so for him to jabber about how he is actually the TUF winner I felt was a little tasteless. I thought he should have been a bit more humble with his "win".

That book lloks like a great read. I will have to check it out!
