thanks for sharing....just the other day my wife had learned this on an episode of "Pawn Stars" but she couldnt remember the name of the plastic material.

i knew about the salic thing, when i was researching balls for the room that i play in.

I read a similar account, regarding cellulose nitrate billiard balls, where a poolroom manager made mention of the occasional explosions from colliding balls. He said that when one went off, every man in the room would immediately draw his gun.
I think that still happens today. :)
