As we all know not many people ever beat Jose Parica for the money, especially playing 1pocket,the only person i ever heard of that beat Parica gambling in 1pocket was Geese,i didnt see it personally, but i do remember hearing about, and its there for everyone to see in 1 of Paricas interveiws, were Jose says he beaten everyone he has ever played for money except for this one fellow in maryland when he played this guy that looked like the mexican, which was Geese, its a great story, iam sure alot of u guys done seen it,if u could post the link, that would be great and thanks,i have no idea how too,But my question is how great was Geese to be the only player to have ever beaten Parica gambling in 1pocket!i got to know Geese after his best playing days were behind him,but i heard all the stories,HOPE SOME OF U GUYS HAVE MORE ABOUT THIS 1POCKET GREAT,GEESE THAT IS!

Geese. Wow a true legend and a true hustler from what i know. I heard his one hand game was top notch too. I've heard so many stories about geese. It would be cool to see or hear more of him. RIP geese

I played him a few times in Frederick at what used to be Champions. He kicked my butt, and everybody else too! The man could play and beat anybody.

Lots of people didnt know about this man,he was way under the radar, part of the 70s and 80s this man was arguebly the best 1pocket player in the world at the time,he beat many good players playing 1pocket, with Geese using 1 hand to there 2 hands,THIS MAN BELONGS IN THE 1POCKET HALL OF FAME,BUT IT WONT NEVER HAPPEN,but if you ask a Rempe or Strickland,Sigel, hall, any older great player, iam sure they would agree!one things for sure none of them wanted to gamble against Geese in 1 pocket!

I am sure she is fine, I spoke (messaged) to her a couple of days ago. She hasn't been coming on the forums much lately but I am sure she is doing OK.

Mike hung around Columbus, Ohio for awhile in the early 70,s. Played with a Tad. Gambled pretty good and was a lot of fun to be around.
I really liked the guy. RIP Mike.

I wonder who taught Geese how to play one pocket? There were never any great one pocket players in the DC area that I know of, aside from Strawberry and Weenie Beenie.

I remember Papa George saying he use to teach Geese, but that is all.

There is a pretty rich history of solid 1p in dc. Not that I witnessed it!

Rags (one of 'em anyway) is an addition to those mentioned

Jack and Jills

They all played in Beanies poolroom in Arlington in the late 60's

I walked in there thinking I could play a little - I walked out knowing how little I could play! 1 pocket 1 handed left handed jacked up 8 to 5 I get all the breaks - Didn't win a game!

I became 1 of the best rackers in the area and enjoyed watching many of the best players ever.

??? Geese wasn't even born then.

Here's a few more. black Nate, Bobby Hawk, Freddie Boggs, Calhoun. I took Bobby over to Jack and Jills to play Geese. Bobby was beating Geese pretty good until Geese went into the bathroom and came out with his nose running. He didn't miss another ball and Bobby quit even and got out of there until another day. Was a secret but i beat Bobby at 1hole and 9ball. We are good friends still. Also Busdriver Ronnie Williams and Tom Wirth are good friends.

I wish the tales of Jack 'n' Jills would keep coming.

I grew up in the area- decades after it was gone- and that place was spoken of often...and usually good stuff!

You were advised to park your car where you could watch it.

Nothing's changed in that neighborghood!
