The Mosconi Cup team I would like to see

OLD NO 9

First off please no derogatory comments about anyone on my team (example: he plays like a dog or he is an ass) Reasons why they may not be right are welcome, just because you don't like them is not. Suggestions on replacements and why are encouraged, just don't bad mouth those they replace.

First off I would like to have Billy Incardona as team manager. Billy Brings a lot to the table smart, great former player (hear he can still dab them pretty sporty), great odds player, handles people well, knows how to win and just hates to lose. Billy is no push over, but also knows when to listen.

Shane Van Boening

Johnny Archer

Shannon Daulton

Chris Bartram

Earl Strickland

Lot of experience on this team all have been center stage, been before cameras, big breaks, shot makers. And all seem to be playing pretty well right now or close enough that a couple of weeks of hard practice would get them there. I feel with this team you just put out your roster and let the Euros try to figure how it may go and Billy is just smart enough to make the right blend under the right circumstance.

There have at me for my choices but be respectful of my players. I would like to see your team.

Later I will tell you why I picked this team and in my opinion the runners up and the close but not quite there yet picks, not that anyone cares. I really do not want to make this post to long.

But lets have some fun and find a team that brings that “Mosconi Cup” back to the USA where it belongs.

I don't know about Daulton and Bartrum. Earl can be off target at times too at this stage of his career.

I think guys like Dechaine, Morris, Deuel, Schmidt, Owen, Jones, and even Shuffett (he shot very well on those 10 footers) need to be in the discussion more than those guys

I would

Replace Daulton, Bartram and Strickland with Stevie Moore, Dennis Hatch and Cory Duel.

personally I'd love to see

Shane VB
Johnny A
Dennis H
Corey D
Rodney M or Mike Dechaine

I could easily replace Daulton or Bartram with Stevie Moore, although would still like to see Bartram on it. Also could replace Earl with Hatch first then Mike Dechaine second.

I would chose the following.

Johnny Archer
SVB
Dennis Hatch
Brandon Shuff
and Landon Shuffett

Captain: Kim Davenport

I add in Shuff and Shuffett because I think they bring an excitement to the game and have the potential to attract a lot of younger people to the Mosconi Cup and pool in general.

I Forgot my Team Captain/Coach

King James...Jim Rempe!

I would also like to see Shuff love the game love the player maybe a year away but will be there someday. Feel Landon needs couple years but will be the star some day. Kim Davenport excellent choice and I would throw in Mark Wilson or Jay Helfert as well. But I'm sticking with Billy.

After Schmidt's antics at the TAR match I would rather not see him.

I would like to see Archer, Deuel (who needs to break hard and not give up the table on every one of his breaks as he has done in the MC the last few years), SVB, Landon Shuffet (who looked really strong in the 10-ball this week and IMO deserves a chance to try the MC and see what he can do), and see if you can get Sigel to come out of retirement because in short sets like these he can be ruthless as long as he practices abit before the event.

Billy I is an awesome choice for a captain as he knows the players well and is about the best match maker out there and will know how to set up the pairings and match up each player.

He's 18 years old and has been playing great...he will get his chance...just not quite yet.

I will stick with a mix of ages

Johnny Archer

Shane Van Boening

Stevie Moore

Dennis Hatch

Corey Duel

Captain: Jim Rempe.

Johnny Archer
SVB
Mike Dechaine

the above three are the best americans i think.

Stevie Moore i think should go.

The fifth spot should be given to who ever is hottest, dedicated, deserving at the time of the selection and if they are allowed a spare i would give it to landon shuffett for future experience.

Billy I for captain would be a great choice. One thing a leader/captain needs is respect from the players. I believe any player would listen to him and take his advice. My vote is for Billy I for capain. I don't believe he will over coach either. We/USA Team would be lucky to get him. Johnnyt

Great choices but as most people know Americans don't pick the American team. That should change, we should pick our own team and then Match Room could OK it. Just saying

Bartram is a long distance runner. He would have a tough time in the short race format.

Your list will lose for sure vs team Europe..

Justin Hall would be a great addition. A new face to many people, but the guys an amazing player who can shoot with the best.

Another vote for Bill I as captain. Can't get any better !! I would put:
SvB
Archer
Shuff
Moore
Morris

I also agree that young gun Shuffet is great; take him along as an alternate; let him experience the glam and if someone gets sick put him in !

I think we should just send the Junior National Team to play in the Mosconi Cup. Hell, if they're gonna act like a bunch of kids, they may as well be kids !!!

At least they'd leave their egos at home and play hard.
