The Posters Who Do The Most Harm To This Forum.

He's just airing is dreams

This is all a bit much to comprehend after a hefty New Years Eve celebration. I didn't realize how much I'd been overserved until my GF showed me a picture she took of me at 3 am.

Every now and then, I go back to old threads that I may have missed some unique posts in and find while reading the posts, that some people make despicable posts, sniping at professional players, the back-stabbing of industry business owners by their own kind, grudges between forum members, grudges for those outside of our forum, the use of foul language to communicate, the degrading way in which women are often portrayed in avatars, the lack of respect given to those of who follow us, the inconsideration of setting an example for others to follow, the ambushing of popular posters, the tripe over rep and the needless attacks on people trying to do something good for pool.

Jealousy, one-upsmanship, self-righteousness, just plain old dislike and intolerance all play a part in some of our posts. There are many reasons for these unsavory posts and threads; too many to list but I was just thinking if the forum members had to look at their worst posts from time to time, they might improve their contributions.

I was thinking about a New Year's resolution and thoughts about hunting down the worst posts of the year and collecting them in a folder and then posting them on the forum so that people can see themselves more clearly, plus... you know, to stick the needle in them. :embarrassed2:

I also thought about putting their screen names together and just making my own personal A--Hole List.

Another thought was to collect their screen names and their real names (it's not that hard) and to publish both on the A--Hole List on the main forum just to see how many of us could be added to my list from other members who don't see things "our" way.

Maybe start a thread, where people could post the reasons for their own personally chosen top 3 A--Holes and then follow up with a poll for the top ten A--Holes based upon the original thread's suggestions.

I'm sure many of us would make other people's list in spite of how we view ourselves, but it's still something to think about.

Instead, I will just wish everyone a Happy New Year. :duck: :angel2: :indecisive: :barf: :poke: :canoodle:

Why dwell on the negative or the past ?? Time is too precious to worry about what has past.

Guess the new year is starting to look like last year already. You guys need to read the whole post, not dwell on the beginning. The END is the whole point of the post. Happy New Year to all.

When did Breakers remodel their bathroom? Looks like they'll have to do it again. Way to go!

Joey has been here a long time. I have also been here a long time. He wasn't talking about people who have a different opinion. He's referring mainly to people who like to attack other people, and have shown no class at all in their posts. Who just look to stir up attacks. Different people like different things, or have their own views. If someone doesn't like me, or my opinions, thats fine. But this is a pool forum, to discuss pool. Don't mean you're an a-hole because you think 9-ball is a better game than 8-ball. And yes, those fights have occured on here, and came to name calling. There are some underage people who play pool and visit this site to learn. You don't need a bunch of vulgar language to discuss pool on here.
Maybe it wasn't the best way to make his point. But he's entitled to his opinion. And I kinda miss FL.

Screw you guys! Im taking my ball and I am going home!

Oh yea....Happy New Years Guys!
Shawn

I ain't reading the entire thread but JoeyA is the nuts in my estimation. "Ignore" function is your friend.

JoeyA,

I'll have to say this is the best Thread so far this year. You really know how to get everyone's attention!! LOL

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

OK That's enough!

Settle down or we're turning this forum around and going home.
HAPPY NEW YEAR HAPPY 2nd decade of the 21rst century
..or is it still the 1rst decade....hmm

While the original post gives a decent laundry list of emotions and impulses that can lead to posts that may pollute our forum, I'm going to take a different view here. In my book, everyone has a clean slate in 2010, and until evidence to the contrary arises, I'll assume that those who didn't post as well as they might have in 2009 will turn over a new leaf and be role model posters this year.

bad things happen

When GOOD people do NOTHING !!
That being said I feel one of the MAIN problems with the forums is that people do not say what they REALLY think (myself included) for FEAR of starting a WAR or looking bad to others .In reality WAR is as neccesary at times as LOVE and PEACE. There are friends in my life that have told me on many occasion to kiss thier ass or get F'ed. After we both vent a little we are GREAT friends and move on with NO resentment or malice. What happens here is a festering sickness of people wanting to look good or be the nice guy and then when someone has the forthrightness (balls) to say what they really see ,think ,and feel ,well they get hammered .People need to say what they think in an adult manner no matter what.
In 2005 I came to this forum in search of knowledge or some long lost secret to pool that I had some how forgotten during 15 yrs of not playing .Well I got alot more but still have not retrieved that great "secret" .Also I made a few friends on here that I hope will stick with me for the long haul.On the other hand I got a good whiff of how nasty and underhanded people can be over a few crumbs. By that I mean the crumbs that people who are doing live streaming are making if anything at all.I wanted to make enough $$ to cover my expenses and bring some of the best tournaments in the south east to you guys with as good of video quality and coverage possible for what is now available with current technology. It seems that even some of the larger areas in the country are not big enough to contain the EGO and PRIDE of some who would want to take over the world like some wierd ,sick ,short , sorta "james bond villan character" . So I have to just grin and bear it and for the sake of people liking me and not looking bad ,I fall into a sort of sickness I like to call "niceguyism" .Don't get me wrong I am a nice guy but I do have my boundaries and breaking point just like anyone else. What I was doing from my heart to give back to the pool world so to speak is being choked out by greed. So in the end I am having to just say Oh well ,let em have at it and they need not fear my retaliation but what they should be aware of is that by working from that spirit it's counter productive to anything long lasting.
Well Joey I hope I said all that correctly ,I feel a little better venting but in the end I doubt I will spend much of my new year on this forum or worrying about much of it.I will end with this.............
A Great and Wise Monk sat upon a mountian top in Tibet for many years pondering the meaning of life .His concentration was unmatched for he had a great and buring desire for answers .This continued to the point of him losing all his hair and his meditations were so concentrated and focused he even crapped little pellets much like a rabbit. Then one night after some good rest he awoke and started loud ,uncontrolable ,wild LAUGHTER.It was then he realized that he would never know what he had been seeking and on a deeper level it was not even his job or right to know.At that very moment the sky split and a great light beamed from the heavens and he heard a great and mighty voice laughing along with him as if to say "You finally got it "

Wow, all this time I think have had the wrong idea when someone said I was on their A-List.
