The Pro Players Raise Funds as Tribute to George "Ginky" SanSouci in Valley Forge

The top pro players on tour will be taking donations and challenges from fans to raise money for the late George "Ginky" Sansouci's family. Fans can come from today through Sunday and challenge a variety of pros who are giving their time to help one of their fellow player's family. The donations and challenges will be taking place at the Predator Poison Booth at the Super Billiards Expo which is at the very front main entrance to the expo.

Thank you to the top pros participating with their time including Thorsten Hohmann, Mike Davis, Johnny Archer, Charlie Williams, and Tony Robles. Many more pros are expected to join in over the 4 days of the event. And thank you to Predator Group for their donation of the cue and use of their table and booth.

Ginky was not only one of the greatest players to ever come out of NYC, but one of the best in the world

We will take challenges daily for $10 for 1 game and if a fan wins they get a raffle ticket. If they pay $20 they play a race to 2 and get an automatic ticket plus if they beat us they get 2 more (3 total) tickets. We will do the drawing on Sunday an hour before the show closes. No need be present if you a left name and number on the ticket. Predator will ship right to your door.

The money is going towards the cost of Ginky's funeral and to help his family.

Fans and industry, we are also taking direct donations. Please see me, Tony Robles, or Thorsten Hohmann if you wish to make a contribution.

Just goto the booth and inquire about when the next challenges for Ginky are taking place, as we will be there throughout the day, everyday.

Thank you,
Charlie Williams

Outstanding!

What a wonderful way to help out in this tough time for his family. You folks are to be commended.

In just the first day, the pro brotherhood raised over $1000 from challenges from fans and donations.
Rodney Morris, Raj Hundal, Johnny Archer, and Shawn Putnam donated out of their own pocket.

Mike Davis brought in the most challenge $, Charlie Williams, Thorsten Hohmann, Shawn Wilkie, Shane VB, and Archer all raised money through their time playing fans.

Tomorrow Mika Immonen will be at the booth 130-230pm, Williams 3-4pm, Raj and Rodney 4-530pm taking challenges.

All fans who donate $ will get a raffle ticket, and more tickets if they win for a Pred cue

Thank you all who have been a part of this

Mika Immonen also is donating a Mezz Cue from his own pocket for Ginky's fund raising. And taking challenges at his Mezz Booth till Sunday.
Thorsten Hohmann has been as well at Lucasi Booth.

Thanks Guys, you're the best

How can we send a contribution?

kd-is there a way to contribute online? Paypal or one of the fundraising/gifting sites?

Please let us know.

Thank you for your good works.

The GSBT and Shannon Daulton will be taking up donations at our amateur 9-ball event this weekend in Conyers, GA for the family of George "GINKY" San Souci. He was a well-respected player as well as a good friend. We are very saddened at his passing and continue to pray for his family during this tragic time! RIP GINKSTER!! We love you, bud!

We will get in touch with Tony as soon as we have the donations in hand!
I am glad to see everyone unite as one under the circumstances.

There is a sticky thread HERE where you can find all the information you need for an online contribution.

EDIT: sorry for the repetition, I didn't see Johnnyt's post first.

Johnny, billb-

Just saw it this AM. Thanks. And thanks to CW and everyone else participating. The billiards community can and does stop barking long enough to do the right things. Thanks guys.

The TD was passing around a box for donations yesterday at the event. I know everyone in my VIP section threw in money; it was nice to see everyone pitching in.

Did Ginky have any kids?

Mika raised $700 alone yesterday playing fans at Pred booth. One guy threw in 500 for him to make a difficult shot. Rodney, Raj, Archer, Davis, Souquet, Robles, and myself all played. Raised another $1200. The pro arena collection at $2000. AZ at over 1000.
We are well over 5000 now plus 3000 raised in NYC and Amsterdam Billiards is matching proceeds being raised.

Looks like Ginky will have a great and proper funeral for a champion.
Thank you all

Predator Poison booth and pro players at SBE

I wanted to bump this thread and say big Kudos to the people at the Predator Poison booth. And all the fans that donated to the charity raffle for Ginky.
This was a very classy event to support a very respected and admired player that we will all miss.

The booth was pretty much standing room only the entire time. And I have to say that the pro's put on a good show for everyone. They weren't playing lock down safeties and just running racks on challengers. They did kicks and banks and were pretty much joking throughout all the matches. Johnny Archer was hilarious and I even saw Ralf Souquet with a rare smile! Charlie Williams even drilled a nice 5 rail bank on the 9 when forced to 'bank out' to win his match.

Everyone had a great time and I'm sure Ginky would have been proud and honored.

I spoke with Nina at Predator today and she said they raised something like $12K for Ginky's family. Great job!
