JT,Thank you for putting this up and thank Jeanette for letting you share it with us here on AZ. She should be on the cover of SI, have a book of her life done, and what is hollywood waiting for...make the movie of her life. Johnnyt
Having a little more time to think about it, this was one of the most genuine introductions that could have been done. It would have been safe to reel off 20 minutes of superlatives, but that would have been easy. Anyone could have done that. You provided a truly unique insight to that no other could have and it was an amazing one at that.
In response to questions; the last slide of the introduction had pictures of the 4 people Jeanette considered most influential in her life.
Gene Nagy
Mark Wilson
Jerry Briesath
Sonia Lee (her mom)
In no particular order of importance.
Hmm...the clip is still available. Your computer may not have the right player to watch YouTube.Unfortunately the clip has been taken down.ive.
This story rivals & perhaps exceeds that of Ben Hogan but his story was public due to an accident.
This secret needs good exposure in a big way.
This story needs to be told in a movie but that might take time.
So...this story needs to be told in Teen Magazine, & the like, Sports Illistrated, Dr. Oz, where ever & when ever ASAP as an example of the amazing capabilities of a human mind, will, 'heart', & spirit. Someone out there is probably in need of some ispiration & Jeanette Lee's true story can certainly provide that inspiration.
Jeanette Lee is an amazing Champion.
Jeanette Lee is an amazing Woman.
Jenette Lee is an amazing Person.
TAP! TAP! TAP! & Three Cheers for Jeanettte Lee!
Truly remarkable.
What is strange though is that they had to remove the rods from her back and had several surgeries? Since this is a large surgery, they usually do not remove the rods.
Maybe the style surgery she had, posterior surgery (surgery in the thoracic spine) because most times the rods are left in place.
My daughter had the anterior surgery which instead of leaving a scar from the back of her neck to the bottom of her back...posterior surgery (like Jeanette's), it only left a small curve on her left side under her arm. They took several of her ribs out and used them to fuse the extra disc space. but, her rod is still inside her and that surgery has been 17 years ago. Anyway, I am glad my daughter had the doctor she had.
In fact, my sister also had scoliosis and was in a body cast for over 6 months after her surgery. Her curvature continued though even after the surgery. Times have changed. her surgery was back in the '70s.
I have a niece on my wife's side that had the surgery & I am not aware of all of the particulars but she just had her secong child & all is well with her.
I hope all is well with your family too. I'll try to specifically include them in my prayers this night.
All of the Best to You & your Family,
