Right on brother, I liked the shot! I think he hit it thinner than he meant to and he got a kiss off the first ball, otherwise it goes up to his end safe, and the second ball {the caromed ball } is just a little more than pocket speed.
Will you ask him bud?

Low percentage for him is just lower percentage for me. But the fact remains, if you wont make a shot 4-5 times in a row at any point in your life, its very low percentage.
If that ball doesn't fall or stay in the jaws of his pocket, he becomes the underdog in that game. At that speed, the ball can easily bank back to the other side and the 5ball is also sold out.
If your goal is to clear the balls, I think this is higher percentage.
It looks like a scratch shot to me that your showing if you catch the 5 wrong especially since its going to be hit with some speed. Mitch was in a bad spot here, not sure if he was trying to make the ball or just go into the 15 trying to move it out along with the 5, if he hit the 15 differently they might move out of play and his cue ball stays where the 15 was.

A flyer is different from a shot you make on a consistent basis. If you consistently play players that make better shots than you and you consider them inferior, Ill take the other guy for the cheeseburgers. I shoot to win whether you can make the shot or not.

Sure, that's different from a flyer. If a shot is, say, 80% for you, go ahead and do it.
I'm just saying, if the shot is 40% for you (even if the rest of the world is only 5%)... you're begging for trouble. It only makes sense then if the game is 1p and you know you can leave them safe. In 1p, close enough is sometimes close enough.
It's still not the "right" shot in my opinion but I think its higher percentage for clearing the balls and ended up in a good spot to win that game. Yea, you have to hit it right, like any shot, but its a pretty natural shot and easy to judge.
If it were me playing, I might shoot off the 15 soft and try to spin around to the other side of the 5... and hopefully on the 5ball. Anything you do from this spot is dangerous. But for me, thats the correct shot. Whatever I can do to not leave a bank.
