The road so far with Johnny and Earl,

Mark...Being from out of the U.S., you may not be acquainted with Priceline.com. As someone who stays in hotels some 200+ nights a year, almost ALL of my hotel stays are booked through my wife (who has the title of 'Dean of Navigation'), through either www.Hotwire.com or www.Priceline.com. She routinely books three star hotels, where the rack rate is $100-$150/night, for about $60/night. That saves a LOT of money, and you always have a nice place to stay (well, not ALWAYS, but out of 200 there might be 2-3 that are not what they're supposed to be). :D BTW, often we book these rooms, from my laptop, while we're on the road, sometimes while we're driving around, in the same geographical area...sometimes just a few minutes before we want to stop for the night (other times she books them days or weeks in advance).

Anyway after Sticks we needed to find another hotel close to our evening engagement and we are trying to be very tight with our expenses and so Earl and I ended up in a Crack house type of motel that to be honest scared me. Johnny was going to stay with Jay that night as he had the Modern Marvels show to tape for the history channel early the next morning. it took us a while to find a cheap hotel as everything around Ontario Mills was in the $150 range and so AGAIN we did not have much time to relax.

Thanks Scott, I ended up a bit rushed on this trip at the end and just didn't have the time. We will be hitting Texas next and I will make sure that that stuff is all handled forthat trip. Thanks again ffor the advice,

Mark...I just wanted to point out that you can book these rooms, this way, in a few minutes, from any computer anywhere (with a credit card). It doesn't have to be in advance...it can be last minute. I do it all the time. Good luck with the rest of the tour! Best wishes to both Earl and Johnny!

That is a great story Mark... I think that is what I enjoy the most about those type of road trips... the smack talking.

Just talked to Earl...he's stuck in the car driving 300 miles with Johnny and Mark. He said ...."I can't take it.....Johnny still thinks he smells better than me!"

Earl said he ran 5 miles today, did 500 sit-ups, and walked 18 holes. Johnny wouldn't go....he said "I came back and found Johnny amidst a pile of candy wrappers watching TV".

Sounds like a great time...

lol, Rick you should have seen the mess. Earl is really sticking to this fitness thing and seems to be much better as a whole for it. I wish I could do what he is doing. Johnny does eat some candy though. Thanks Rick,

Mark,

You have a real treat. I have met and known many top players, but to be on the road with these two is something nobody may be able to say or ever say again. WOW. That's all I can say.

Sounds like you all are having a great time, can't wait to see you guy's Friday!!!!!

Take Care

Mark,

I know...Earl is serious about staying in shape. It has to help, all the way around.

Keep you're eye on Earl, late nights....he's been known to polish off a doughnut, or candy bar himself :)

Too bad they are flying out of Seattle. I was hoping you'd bring them back to Az. for a few days. I was wanting to play some more golf.

Maybe next time!
