You would have to be there longer to get into the qualifiers and then there is the $1500 plane trip. And the time zone. But I suspect your money odds are better.I was just thinking that I should have held on to my USopen fees and played in this...

There are 14x800+ here. They should all secure top 16 which means you have really good chance of cashing up to $3K .I was just thinking that I should have held on to my USopen fees and played in this...
Do you see anything about the event that could be improved?
In several groups of eight there are two qualifiers and in others none. There is one group of 8 with 3 qualifiers. That seems broken. Maybe they seeded the top 64 and all the rest are random.Brackets for stage 2 Double Elimination (128 players) is up with seeded players. Other qualified players and unseeded players should be added soon.
16 groups of 8 players each. 4 from each group qualify for Single elimination last 64
Qatar event? Probably plenty.Do you see anything about the event that could be improved?
Brutal! The 128 qualifier participants have to put up $500 each, play a torturous non-stop day, and then pay an extra $250 if they win. There are 14x800+ here. They should all secure top 16 which means you have really good chance of cashing up to $3K .
To put it simply, US Open has about double number of 800+ here so in a way your chances of winning are double here

And they earn $250 in return of $750 invested if they end up in Last 96. Really brutal.Brutal! The 128 qualifier participants have to put up $500 each, play a torturous non-stop day, and then pay an extra $250 if they win.
Perhaps pool needs more such events ie: Soccer World Cup
Something that would attract attention if put together with the viewer in mind.
Yes, and SVB's ranking is 35th, having played in 4 of the 14 events that comprise the rankings. And Woodward at an even 100th.the commentator said the "world number 1" is playing now, meaning wiktor zielinski. i took a look at the WPA rankings, which not long ago had mika immonen as number 2, to see their top 25. turns out the best american is tyler styer, who is world number 21.
Same brand and model used at Jayson Shaw's Connecticut Open right before the US Open. I think the corner pockets in CT were said to be 4 3/8". The commentator in the match that just ended (a Zielinski win) said the pockets here are 4.2", a number he stated after both a side pocket shot and a corner pocket shot. Hmm.... I have never heard of the table brand -- Mr. Sung.

Tried watching it. They have a semi-clueless snooker commentator on duty. I lasted about one rack. Yawnnnnnnnnnnn.
The only aspect to the MR break rules that make it any better (harder) is the random nature of the 2 ball in the rack. Even with that said, there's a couple of ways to pot that automatic 1b in the side with the 9 on the spot. I've been experimenting with what action should be placed on the CB specific to 2b location. Not sure if there's a secret sauce to be had, but tourneys in my area are all transition to the MR rules, so it's worth the effort.he's not a snooker comm to my knowledge. sounds more like a narrator of children's audiobooks.
the biggest error here is the stupid break rule, that may be part of the even stupider pissing contest vs matchroom. the WPA rules states the 1-ball should be on the spot. but the thing is that MR didn't invent the 9 on the spot. the US open, the eurotour (which is WPA-affiliated) and many other tournaments had it long before MR changed to 9 on the spot. so in reality it has been used for a long time, just because of what we are seeing on this stream:
wingball dead, 1-ball dollies up in the shooter's corner. with the magic rack it's almost a feat to not have this happen, even for the dead money players. very little variance = long races needed to have a fair test between the top echelon players, and they're not having that either.
the setup is looking good though, good camera angle.
