I was wondering how many players you all know of that follow the Pro tour(s) and also work full-time.

Here are a few in my area that I know of:

Myself, Dave Hemmah and Ernesto Dominguez. Formerly from my area would also include Louis Ulrich and Neil Fujiwara.

Wish I could include myself in that group, in fact, the only reason I can't is that those included all play better than I...

Corey- please share the type of play that you get to do weekly, hours as well as tournament or solo. I would also be interested to know if you have a regular sparring partner, or if your victims are whoever happens to have the misfortune of being at the PHall when you are there?!

Well, since I went back to work (bout 2yrs ago) I average about 2 hours a week of by myself practice at home and I have gone as long as 10-14 days without picking up a cue at all. I only go to poolrooms anymore for 2k+ added tournaments. Rarely do I catch a weekly local tournament.

However, with this series of IPT qualifiers I have picked my playing time up significantly. Been sparring with Sal Butera the last couple weeks and we have logged in 9 races to 10 of 8 Ball for about 16 hours of play. We will play again tomorrow.

While not really a pro PLAYER to say, but Professional Trick Shot artist Stefano Pelinga works full time in Italy and competes here in the US.... or at least he used to last time I talked to him.

Yeah, I believe he is in the detective unit or something like that their. I forget, last time I saw and talked to him was in March at an exhibition here.

A very friendly guy to talk with though. Another great person to represent pool.

I thought this funny cause reading your signature it would seem beneficial to you to travel the pro tour considering your job. So it would seem part of your job is just that.

CCC,
AZB's own Melissa Herndon is definitely one of the highest (if not the highest) ranked WPBA players with a full time "day job."

Im just tryin to figure out how you can work and be pro - I know a lot of people do it but where is the time for it??

There certainly are benefits both ways for Tiger and myself, but the fact remains that I work 8:30a-5p Monday thru Friday for them. Just like Neil at Predator. Though, he is a bachelor ;), where I am not.

> I've always been told that the best player on the planet with a full-time job was Mike Bandy from Chicago,an electrician with Commonwealth Edison. His speed is maybe a ball better than Marco Marquez. That makes him a legit IPT caliber player, but always said he'd be stupid to quit that gig to play full-time. Another was Bob Vanover,a furniture store manager/owner,that once ran out 2 racks to close the first set in a double-elim finals, then ran out the entire second set,9 racks total. Tommy D.

breedlove

When I witnessed George Breedlove win his IPT card in Boston, I overheard his mother say that he owns a carpentry business, and that he has several carpenters working under him. Now that he's in the IPT, I don't know if he'll be able to continue being a carpenter fulltime.

Dave Hemmah and Ernesto Dominguez.

Does working in pool hall ( Hemmah) and on pool tables ( Ernesto) count?

I think frankie Hernandez works on garbage collection truck for City of New york?

Coming from the north east I always heard Jack Calovito was the best working mans player ever.

I suppose Dave Hemmah has the right job to maintain his skills but Ernesto working on pooltables is a very time consuming full-time job. Often he will spend long days getting the tables ready for a big tournament and then show up to play. He is in great demand and works long hours.

How is your one-pocket game Vagabond?
