Hey all!!

I'm just on my way to the hospital for reconstructive plastic surgery on my right thumb. I got in an argument with my table saw this afternoon, and lost. I now have a 2 hour drive to where they are going to perform the surgery.
I seem to have cut it up the middle, right through, just past the knuckle.
Man do I feel stupid. I'm just waiting for my ride to get here, and I'm off.
Simple carelessness was the cause.
Good thing it wasn't the thumb on my bridge hand!!
Gotta stay positive.

Hope all goes well with the surgery. Johnnyt

CD, I hope it turns out OK.
I know about table saw mishaps.
I took a friend to the ER when the wood he was feeding kicked-back and he had his hand OVER that blade.

Get well, CheezDawg, and remember, pool will still be there for you when you're ready.

Thanks for the support.
I just got back from seeing the plastic surgeon, and he said there was no reason for me to go there for plastic surgery.
He just completed stitching it up, and as much as said the doctor who reviewed my x-rays should have his eyes checked.
All I have to watch out for is infection. There really isn't a whole lot of pain, but there is some.
I'm definitely not all thumbs now. I should regain about 99% of what mobility I had with my thumb before. Good news.
Thanks again.:)

Without doing something silly ( like tearing stiches ) try and work on your flexibility / mobility while healing.

I'm guessing they put a few internally? They take a while longer to disolve but the others will be out in a couple of weeks.

Be safe!!

Dave

Thanks again guys.
I'll be up at my room today doing a few small jobs.
I was actually in the process of making some cue rests for in between the tables up there when this happened.
I may try to finish them this week. I'm going to be off work for a while to heal, and I know I'm going to be bored to tears!!!

Must have been hard to type this, especially the space bar! Hope all goes well with you and you heal up fast.

Take care,
Linda

Get easier action! "Look man my thumbs all jacked up, can you gimme a little more weight?" :D

Heal fast, play your best, and show the table(and the saw) who's boss :p

Actually, I tried to stroke my cue today, and I may actually be able to play, but I'd have to resort to a much softer break due to the damaged digit.:D
I don't want to push it too soon.
There will still be a million more games, and a hundred million more shots.

Straight pool and 1 Hole dont require smashing breaks, Might be time to pick those games up :p

Get well soon. Pool = Physical therapy...

Actually, I started to play 1 hole about 6 months ago, and I really like it.
I don't play much 14.1, but I like that game too.

Just have to stay positive, and take everything in stride.

Glad to hear things aren't as bad as they might have been. LOL on xidica's post. I got to hang out with this guy one day. I believe this cat would scare up action at the Boy's Club!
