I just emailed my buddy, Kevin Trudeau :p .... Kevin, what can you tell me about the status of checks? Chicago? Is there any hope? Thank you!

And he got back to me instantly with this reply: (Copied and pasted)

Barry Diller...warren buffet...donald trump...bill gates..and the list goes on..do not read internet forums. I think it is a good idea! This is HUGE deal being made. A very positive announement will be made this week and money is coming!! No dramas!! :) Thanks for all your support! This is the beginning of the beginning and unexpected things always happen as new businesses are being built! The ratings on VS are HUGE!! ALL very positive!! Chicago is a 100% GO!

Many people are going to say he is just delaying us longer, but I am hopeful again and really believe he is coming through no matter how badly this has been handled. :o
 
I'm glad to read something like this, and badly want to believe there is still hope. I had such a great time as a spectator at the Vegas IPT event, I am really hoping all will turn out OK and IPT will continue....

What in the heehaw does this have to do with the price of beans?!?!? How in the hell does he know who does & doesn't read forums anyway?!?! Did you mention the forums to him? Why would he mention them? That's twice that I know of that he's referenced forums... I thought he wasn't going to pay us any mind?

I sincerely hope everyone gets paid but I'll believe it when I see it and not a second sooner.

Edit::: Not yelling at you Linda. Sorry if it comes across as if I am. I just got done typing another reply in another IPT thread and it's got my blood boiling. This is utter BS and the MF'er needs to pay you guys.

Sorry Tims, I did not include my whole email, where I copied and pasted some of the forum to him of another thread. It was about being 30 days late. I liked the part where interest was paid, nudge, nudge. ;) I can see now how this was confusing, my bad.

I guess the reference about other gazillionaires was to show that they all had glitches in starting up and growth...anyway that is my take on it.

Here's how I see it... his email to you was just another carrot on a stick. For a month now players have been told by Deno and Lindsay that the checks were going out in a day or so... each person that was told that was just as hopeful that it was the truth as you are about what KT said.

I can completely understand getting excited and hopeful but they've reached the point of the "little boy who cried wolf" to me.

I simply won't believe anything they say. Actions speak louder than words. ;)

Remember Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire....

Show me the money!!!!!
 
Barry Diller...warren buffet...donald trump...bill gates..and the list goes on....have enough actual net worth to make sure their reputations don't go down the tubes for a measly $3 million. They are men of actual means who could, and likely would settle the debts out of their own personal funds if necessary -- to demonstrate their integrity and financial depth, if nothing else. Nothing would show faith in the "business plan" more strongly than that.

Abuse of smilies, exclamation points and "sunshine and lollipops" feel-goodism should set off a few alarm bells. I'm down with the "Jerry McGuire" reference :)
 
Some time ago a kid was playing a video game that shouted at him every so often. The voice was of a mafia hit man. Every so often the hit man would grunt, "Whare's da f****n money? Gimme da f****n money!" And it would go on and on....

Maybe someone has a link to a sound file... If so, post the link, so folks can click on it to their hearts content :D

Interesting e-mail Linda. My "interpretation" is he needs to find some money to pay everyone and is working on it. He needs more time. He's stalling, but for a good reason. He actually "wants" to pay! So, although I read this quite differently than you do, it may actually be a good sign.

All that stuff about the famous guys and the net, and big TV ratings and the "beginning" of the beginning is just so much fluff. Sounds to me like he wants to keep the IPT alive and he knows he must pay the three mil to do so. So your buddy Kevin is on what we in the Poker business call a treasure hunt. Let's hope he strikes gold somewhere. One thing this does prove (to me anyway) is that he ain't so rich as he professes to be. Probably no where near.
 
....or he's trying to keep the scenery boards propped up with 2x4s until he can flip the whole mess to a savior, without risking his own dwindling assets on the whole stinker...

I can't help but make a comment and it has nothing to do with whether you get paid or not. That e-mail was meant to belittle you, and put you down and keep you in your place. The cryptic nature of it, like you aren't worth a straight answer, after all who are you to question them. You are so much more then that piece of trash it angers me to read that e-mail that was sent to you.

I sounds like the words of KT by the way, the BS name dropping nature. Regardless what happens, you are dealing with a piece of human garbage. We will have discuss this on here a year from today from a better perspective and see how it all looks at that time, it will be interesting.

Thanks, I think. :o I think he fired it off right away to allay fears and while he definitely put a positive KT spin on things, I don't feel belittled. I was glad he acknowledged my concerns.

From a previous email to him, I am pretty sure he was gone until the 8th. Out of the country? Maybe, but he may have so many balls he is juggling right now - TV, Chicago, Ho deal, etc. plus his new start up MLM company, that he just isn't giving this situation the gravity it deserves. To him, he may really believe that things are going great. Maybe he has things under control now so that they really can be great again. That is my hope.
 
Maybe Bill Gates doesn't spend much time monitoring what goes on in the forums and the blogosphere, but you can be sure that Microsoft's PR department pays close attention to it and is quick to implement damage control.

These are not like the good old days when the big boys could keep the information under wraps.

The fact is, a great deal of the information about the IPT which is taken into consideration by those who get involved, comes from forums such as this one and then filters down into the general pool public.

Of course there is a lot of BS speculation on all forums, but the truth generally wins out, and often it is here that most people hear it first.

To ignore or frown down upon the internet community is not a wise PR move imho.

Also, the fact that the IPT is not answering emails promptly and with the information requested leaves little option for the players but to seek information here.

I just saw an interview with Bill Gates just a week ago and he talked about going on the Internet usually anonymously and talking on forums. He also said he spends most mornings playing on line Bridge.

KT likes to weave words to put people down and impress with the name dropping and all that stuff. He is so full of st!t at a point he doesn't know where the BS begins and ends. You know his biggest attraction to pool was, he could walk around playing the roll and getting all kinds of undeserved admiration from people who he perceived as inferior, "Big fish in a little pond". Except he is being shown to be the phony he is, I doubt he expected that when he started. Arent you just a little tired of all the ass kissing that is required?

It started with the demand you had to be at the KOTH at your own expense or you are kicked off the tour, just a form of manipulation and intimidation and it continues since you are all owed money. The ones who are in the top 100 are still under his thumb wishing and hoping. He can twist them any way he wants they have no power. Deno is the biggest disgrace of all, he was just bought plain and simple. He actually worked within the medical industry for a foundation I think his family may have set up that helps children with growth problems like he had when he was young.

Now he works for a guy who sold, and wishes he still could, phony cancer cures to desperate people. I hope his family is proud of him, he should be glad his mother never ran into a Kevin when he was young or he might still be a midget. He told a friend of mine who is a billiard player a few months back, bragging I guess, how he was making money hand over fist. Well, at least someone is getting paid, or was, who knows now.
 
There is always hope.

He said one thing that's true, it's doing well on Versus, and that does give hope although I feel KT may not be in position to continue the IPT and looking for the door, but probably trying to carry on as a major sponsor without paying.

I still feel Comcast may get involved if KT wants to jump ship, Comcast threw it's money away on Hockey and the ratings are not whole lot better then the IPT has been getting. We all know the IPT has little value at this point since it's in debt, but Comcast does have something it could offer KT, late night time slots for infomercials:D

But seriously, It's obvious KT does not want to put any more money out of his pockets, and will get what he can. I don't feel we have seen the last of the IPT and hopefully someone will give it a much longer run, and also honor the last payout in full, but I don't see KT putting out the money at this point and it's the last 3 million dollar pool event we will see in a long time.

Linda...for KT to compare himself to Gates, Buffet, Trump, is ridiculous. He is more compared to a Jim Bakker or some other religious phoney that has all these followers blindly being lead to the edge of the cliff. What is today---30 days? Keep hope, that is all you have. Too bad you can't cash hope at your local bank. But to keep thinking up excuses for KT, I am sorry, is nothing more than weak. This man screwed you over. Here is a good business tip for you. When you start having your doubts about someone, it is generally TOO LATE. No beginnings, or new beginnings. More like the end. His qualifiers are down to 3 or 4 players. The damage he has done by not paying when he said he would is far too great. How many foreign players will make the trip to Chicago now, even if they get paid right before that tournament starts?
