I wouldn't be surprised if Bernie was contacted by the IPT about his comments here on AZ.

Bernie realized that he will not continue on the tour or win in qualifiers. He has ZERO to gain from the IPT in the future other than the love of the sport from a player/fan perspective. So, he started openly criticizing the IPT on this forum. Then, all of a sudden, he does a 180. He might be annoying, but he's not a psycho.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the IPT told him to STFU on the forums by threatening him with his $5,000. Either openly, or implied. Perhaps Bernie realized himself that biting the hand before it feeds him is a bad idea...

No matter what, I'm certain there was communication to him about his comments online by the IPT.

Remember, these guys think they're like real sports. If an NFL player publicly speaks negatively about refs, the league, etc...they get fined.

However, unlike real sports, the IPT considers their players as contestants when it comes to payment, but considers them employees when it comes to duties. That's convenient.

And he says "Chiago is a go..." What a joke!! I think all of the players should show up and corner him and just flat-out refuse to play unless they are paid right there on the spot. And, I would make sure that Billiards Digest, Inside Pool Magazine and the Chicago Tribune are All there to report on it. I'm sure some of the local TV stations that do investigative reporting might find KTs latest scam very interesting too. He is messing with alot of people's careers here...not just peddling some crock of shit book about natural cures!!

KT name doesn't rate being in the same paragraph as any of them. He hasn't the money, education, self-respect, admiration or class of any of them.
KT is nothing but a very successful predator. If he was in their class money wise and wanted to continue the IPT, he would have paid the monies that he owes to the players from his own pocket. I don't believe that he has any formalized education, let alone an advanced Ivy league one. What major charitable foundations for the sick or underpriviledged has he founded?

No, I doubt that he would be found speaking at major universities or business conferences, and would not even be invited to the same social clubs any the others.

KT is simply a better dressed, higher incomed, predator, nothing more than the phoney Wizard behind the "cyber curtain".

First I want to say that anytime someone who owes you money returns your call, Email, whatever, it's a hopeful sign.

I don't blame folks for being angry and posting their frustrations with the non payment issue, but since there are people waiting for checks who view and use this forum, I think name calling and reckless negative speculation is disrepectful to those IPT players and serves no constructive purpose.

I think the players who post here deserve all the respect and support we can give them.

Rackmsuckr, did you forward my earlier post to the big guy? Yeah, that interest idea should have gotten his attention! No wonder he recommended not paying attention to forums! lol

I still think the prompt response from Mr.Trudeau is positive though. I am more hopeful after hearing it.

I'm sure KT has an assistant or mgr or someone to check his email... if Deno does (he told me so) then I know that KT does. I'm sure whoever has that lovely job has been given a script of what to say. They probably just change some words around every once in awhile so that if people compare emails, they won't have the exact same cookie cutter letter.

I wrote a letter to Santa Claus one time and he wrote me back. It was a pretty fast response too considering it had to come from the North Pole. Sorry for the sarcasm here, but I think the players have as much of a chance of getting paid as they do meeting ole St. Nick himself. KT is stalling....plain and simple. I know alot of the players on the IPT and it sucks b/c alot of them have had to scuffle around for a long time to earn a living in this sport and then this CLOWN comes along and makes all these big promises and gets their hopes up and then pulls this crap. KT's not buying time, he should pay time. If it took you/Jay what 5 weeks or so to get 5K divide that by 3 mil and everyone will be dead long before its payback time. I just looked through all the pictures from the IPT event in Reno, the players etc. put allot of effort into being there, ya gotta wonder even if the players get paid, will they be able to focus knowing that the samo situation may be on the horizon?

I too sent an email directly to my buddy Kevin asking if we should be concerned about getting paid. Here's his response:

In my world of business, when a businessman tells me he’s going to do something and we shake hands, that means it’s going to happen. In the world of pool, when someone says they are going to do something it means he’s probably going to rob you! Ha Ha Ha Ha I’m joking of course, but there is a running line in pool that goes, “Winning the tournament was easy. Getting paid is the hard part!” Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

I find it amusing that so many players are concerned with actually getting a check from a tournament. Imagine if I put on a tournament and didn’t
pay the players. I get enough criticism in the press. That’s all I would need is some more! Ha, ha. I write this with a big smile on my face because it is so amusing to me that players are concerned about getting paid. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha! But to put all the fears at rest, when I had my first tournament with LoreeJon Jones and Mike Sigel I decided to bring out the money in cash - $150,000.00 in cash money and put it so that everyone could see that Mike actually got the money! And didn't everybody see the pictures of Efren holding his cool half million cash? Of course, right after the tournament since Efren and I are friends I said, “Eff, I know you probably don’t want to carry this money around, so why don't I send you a check later.” Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha, Ha, ha..

So, to make sure that the reputation of pool is actually enhanced from its previous dubious, less than stellar reputation, all the players at IPT events will be paid at the end of each round. We are working out the details and logistics, but the bottom line is when a player comes to the event, and if they lose and are knocked out of the tournament, the next day they will be able to walk into the cashier’s office and get a check for their tournament winnings. This is very exciting! Geeze folks, why did Rackmsuckr just have to defend her judgement and integrity here over whether she received a real Email or not?

Maybe the reason is that folks who are hopelessly cynical about the situation are just hopelessly cynical about everything and don't know when to stop.

How does he know? MOST of the people in the world who know who KT is think he's a crackpot. I would actually be quite surprised if Bill Gates didn't read a forum or two from time to time. A forum is just a method of communication. What is being written in this forum is being said in pool rooms across the world, so his attempt to isolate this to a "forum discussion" is a bit humorous.

How many times has KT gone out of his way to say, "he doesn't read internet forums"? Of course he reads them. Otherwise, he wouldn't use this tactic to discredit anything that's said in them every chance he gets. We know Deno reads the forum so, even if KT doesn't read it himself, the information is getting back to him from someone in his organization. The fact is, he made promises that he didn't keep. Period. Now no one is supposed to question that? 200 people are owed money and all he can say is, "does Bill Gates read internet forums?" In the words of Sho 'Nuff, The Shogun of Harlem ... "Nigga, Please!"
