I actually love buckeye burl. Not sure on a cue, but it makes great looking pens.

I see what you mean, thats probably disappointing for you. Those pieces are not long enough for tomato stakes and it doesn't get cold enough in your area for a wood burner. Oh well.......:idea:Hey I have a wood burner.
Nice harvest~Cuebuddies jealous.

the ones you think are buckeyes are not all buck eye....can you pick them out...
I manipulated some wood to get the look...
heheheh ...
it's cheaper and consistent in figure...

Wow!

Wow.. that piece on the left is amazing! Some beautiful burl you got there. Most people spend years hoping to score some woods like these. Congrats!

OK you got me!

So do you have some pictures of finished product from these unseemly looking blocks of wood?

Is that mappa burl in the post above the amboyna burl pictures?

Also...it looks like your first set of pictures are all buckeye, and most of the second mixed in with something that almost looks like black and white ebony?? Is there some madrone and redwood burl in some of these pictures?

.what am i going to do with this

Marshall, I'm thinking of going into the mop handle business. Maybe you could help a fledgling guy get off the ground. Just kidding, thats absolutely beautiful. If you get tired of looking at it, you know where to find me.
Terry.

As far as the buckeye goes there is a mix of buckeye and my wood that started out white and ended up looking like buckeye I mixed it in so that I could see if anyone can pick them out.

As far as the others you named nope not on the list good try. If you ever read any of my threads or follow my threads you would know that I make alot of these through manipulation of fungus and tree viruses and bacteria. Takes about a year or so but worth the wait. I'll be getting a whole lot more here soon my dad chopping everything up now and going to ship it back to Ms for me.
