They don't make them like they used to

Ronnie O'Sullivan scoring more than a century in snooker alternating between left an right whether he had to or not is the best I have ever seen.

What an absolute gentleman he was.

Characters. Seem to be lacking in the game. Apart from Earl and a few others of course!

That was great. I also go a big chuckle out of Gary Moore and him smoking away. I particularly liked how "cool" he held the cigarette. There were "cool guy" poses.

Straightpool_99...That's EXACTLY what better instructors have been teaching for the past 30 years..."throw" the cue through the CB...let the cue & timing create the speed and do the work! Most players 'death grip' the cue, and use muscle to 'drive',or force the cue through the CB. Both ways work...one is a lot more accurate and easier to repeat.

. Looks like he's throwing the cue into the ball, but with so much control.

Willie Mosconi was a Brunswick Employee for many years, he had the cushion of a regular pay check from Brunswick.

But IMHO he was also during his lifetime one of the Great Ambassador of the game. Are there any more Willie Moscon’s in the world of pool today? IMHO NO he was what I will call a dead breed, and no one has never done what Willie did to spark interest in the game.

A side note would be in his book, Willie’s Game it is mention Pool has declined in popularity, and never ever been as big as it was the years of Willie’s birth 1913.

Two times in Willie’s Life Pool got a shot in the arm by Hollywood. Color of Money & The Hustler gave Pool a temporary shot of new life.

RIP Willie.

Are you crazy?

I have never met a pool player from that era that didn't say Mosconi was an asshole.

I only met Willy once back in 64/65. I refereed an exhibition match between him and a locale player. Willy was a very gracious gentleman throughout the whole affair, even when he was given reason not to be. Run 93 and out in a game to 100.
