I don't care for those ringtail lizard wraps. On some cues they are tolerable, but I've seen some high end cues with them and it's really bad to my eyes.
And staining birdseye maple. Why stain one of the best looking woods? Another member and I ordered similar cues from the same maker around same time, his was gray-stained birdseye and mine bocote. He was charged a deposit and I wasn't. I can only reason it was because of the stain.
I agree ring tail lizard just looks bad to me, I dont like stag or buck horn, aor any horn on cues, Walrus ivory is bad too, i dont like the gray or grey color of it. some woods I dont like either(cant think of any now) stained wood is bad, all natural.
Chalk rings on ferrels irrates me too, slip on tips really suck, un even points to a certain extent its hard to get them perfect,
Sharp veneers and rounded points(tips) on the whole point-did I say that right?
Pictures on cues like Predator break cues with the cat on it, cue works good but the cat has to go,
I dont like it when ring work like dots dont line up right, 20 years ago that was common, now the guys are doing alot better at lining up the rings.
Glue lines or sharpie markers to cover up mistakes(i understand why its done on a $250 cue but on expensive cues its aweful).
Fake Ivory or Fake anything for that matter.
I know this is gonna sound weird but i'm sick of fancy BEM, I have became a purist I like straight grain maple like Bushka used, until a couple years ago I liked satin maple, fiddle back, the more figure the better-not no more, plane jane with fancy wood accents.
Too many rings-but that depends on the cue maker, Ed Pruitt can us as many as he likes, but Barry I like one ring only. It just depends on the look of the cue.
ok i'm done no but ya know what? I havent seen a cue I didnt like. i love them all, just some more than others.
