I publish news about Jack's new venture and it's removed?? What gives?

I guess the billiards community really doesn't need to be informed of Mr. Justis' news... He's only the biggest casemaker we've seen and this impacts a great number of people, let alone the industry as a whole.

Since the medium wasn't the appropriate delivery method, would it have been any different it it were to any other website??

If you want to be "the best" website, shouldn't you have quickest access to the news? Guess not...

Maybe it was just a late April Fool's joke. LOL

Ross I knew your thread was going to get deleted because you linked to Jimbo's forum. Mike & Wilson don't take to kindly to that. This one will get deleted as well if you don't edit out the link. That's the way they roll around here. :O

I just find it ironic that azb is supposed to be the "find it here first" kind of place and when a long-time member wants to help "everyone in the billiard community" know about a HUGE event, it gets deleted....

Odd, no? God forbid it was link to a cuemaker's website or even Jack's himself.... It would be different then?

It is equally Ironic that Jimmi Boi's forum got swallowed up by the same kind of people Mr. Justis is dealing with.

well this will be interesting considering how everyone hates china lets see what public opinion is on this matter after a week.

It isn't true that I hate china, I hate many things about china and the way they do business seemingly most of the time. Patent infringement, cheap or slave labor, shoddy merchandise, effective government subsidies, very lopsided trade restrictions and effective barriers, an almost endless list.

In the case of this company, Jack Justis himself has addressed many of these issues and said they aren't problems so at this point I'll adopt a wait and see attitude. Apparently they paid Jack enough for his rights to make him happy.

I guess my opinion is good for Jack. I can't fault him for building his company up then selling it out. It seems no American company's or case builders stepped up so this is the end result. I am sad to see yet another American product go oversees but Jack has to go where the money is. In this case he is not putting any American's out of work. It's not a case of a company getting cheap labor for a better bottom line. The company buying the rights is already in China. I am sure I will get flamed for this but oh well.

It's going to happen (happening already) either way, why not get paid?? I say kudos - wise business move....

Nothing wrong with what Jack did. Like what you said, it's what the larger American companies didn't do. Although I hope this doesn't keep happening.

no, you shouldn't. this is what the business economy is built upon. this is what is integrated in close to everyones mind set from birth on; see to your self/own first. it's nothing new is it? it's sad though, because what you'd see looking 30 years ahead is us leaving our kids to a china in a position never imagined; complete monopoly on cue cases (and everything else)

Bingo think you said that correct:)

I say Jack made a good decision. If they are going to be knocked off anyway, at least he is assuring that they'll me made properly by somebody. However, that said, I will not knowingly buy a case made in China. For me, it isn't just about quality and price.

As somebody mentioned on another forum, it is interesting that they are "Justis West", made in China you might expect "Justis East".

He is ready, probably more than ready, for semi-retirement and I hope he enjoys his relaxed work schedule. I am quite envious of his situation actually.

Hey Justin's Friend - thanks for the insight... :p

I'm just curious how that makes it ok. If I were Mike Janis and posted something about news back to the Viking website or Charlie Williams and linked something to the Dragon Promotions website, it'd stay..

IPT was linked like crazy and it was never deleted.... Just a few examples of selective moderation - which is why many have quit posting/participating here and the number of valued people have dwindled....

JMO...

anyways, back to the subject at hand - I wonder how this will change the GTF perception as well... any more thoughts?

My thoughts are I'm not interested in made in China for various reasons. The fact that Jack, who I respect immensely, decided that this is the right thing for him at this stage of life, doesn't change my attitude about the subject.

I'm sure something north of 1/2 the people on this board disagree with me.
