Depends on quantity purchased and quality of run out and number of growth rings per inch. Also, whether they have been tapered some or are true dowels. Better be sitting down when price is mentioned.

have you seen how many posts i've got on az. i'm always sitting down!!!!!!!! the other 50% of the time im pretending i can play or sleeping.

let's say 20GPI with minimal run out. what's a ball park figure?
 
I traded a dowel for a table recovering job. (He bought the cloth too)
It's the only one I've come off of that wasn't in finished form though. Good luck finding some!

Like a lot of cue building material they're over hyped, over priced and just a dead piece of wood for a shaft.
imo.....................
 
if any of you people run into some hard maple that has 4 or 3 growth rings per inch, let me know.light or dark,prefer the dark.

i have 2 shafts that are 4 growth rings per inch and fairly dark.i probably won't use them except for j/b shafts.are you looking to buy ?
 
I know there are mixed feelings concerning these shafts...and perhaps they are justly deserved. All I know is that I have one, that came from a special stash...and it is by far the best playing shaft I have ever owned. Not dead at all...very lively, and stiff...terrific feedback. Maybe I just got lucky.

i was quoted $500.00 for a piece of screwbean mesquite 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 by 30. btw i passed.

I feel ( worth more than any low deflection shaft!!! I have 2 extended length Shafts from Sheldon Lebow . ( In 1/1000th of a second , you can still hear,feel a difference . I think the shafts Have different sound , I bought some 6/4 to have cue butts turned from ,I like the shafts that much. I also bought white walnut, looks like curly oak ,flaming birch- hard as Maple.. The wood sells by the pound- Go to Ashland,Wis it is worth the trip-or Canada -with fuel prices how they are it will be awhile before we get more. sucks . Ask koinnkid troy if Kenny has any more to sell(dowels ,were 50.$ each Mark
